First - I keep reading how a lot of people think we don't need another QB. While I agree that our future is bright at QB, we only have 2 scholarship QB's as of right now. You should always have at least 3 and IMO you should sign one QB a class. That puts you at four QB's on roster at a time. You could have injuries, transfers (as we have seen) and you want to have people there as backups

Also, there is nothing wrong with having a backup QB. Most people on here think if X player is not going to be the starting QB, than we should make him a WR, DB, etc. This drives me nuts

Second- Craig Brackins is a great player. If he only scores 10 points next game, he is still a great player. But I guarantee you there will be people posting how he is not even close to being ready for the NBA after the first game he struggles. Nevermind that the guy is putting up 19 and 8 right now. He has some things to work on but who doesn't?

Last- A lot of ISU people on this board think you are not allowed to say one thing about ISU if it is not 100% positive. Comments like, "GREAT win for ISU tonight. I hope we can build on it and be ready for Big 12 play. Greg McD still has some room to improve though." are completely unacceptable for some on this board. WHY?

It does not mean that I am any less of an ISU fan than you. It doesn't mean that you attend any more games, cheer any louder, or pay more attention over ISU than I do. You just chose to look at things differently. Doesn't make you or I a jerk.

End of rant

Anyone posting on this board after a loss. CF should be shut down for 12 hours after a loss in either basketball or football.

I kinda agree but in a way I think the meltdowns are good for fans. It lets people release some frustration. You pretty much have to take the meltdown posts with a grain of salt and know that half of what people are saying they don't mean because their judgment is clouded.

Although I'd gladly welcome a 9 win season for football and a ncaa tourney birth for bball so we didn't have to meltdown anymore.

6 hours after a close win?

Good question. I do dislike how CF seems to becoming more negative. I understand that with more people posting, that the negative posters tend to stand out.

I want the days back when we could discuss ISU and other topics without people slamming each other or the teams.

Don't make me come over there!!!!!!!

It's been a rough month. I think it'll turn somewhat when the news is consistently better.

Maybe we're still a little hungover on the Chizik scenario.

1. I am probably more positive then most, but I don't mind criticism as long as it's objective criticism and not 1 minute after a game we lost where emotions are tweaked out and all the sudden we have people with unrealistic expectations of players, coaches and AD's. There are a lot of areas our MBB program needs improvement on, and that includes coaching, player attitudes and fundamental playing.

2. Posting on message boards is very comparable to beer muscles only their is really no repercussions to over the top message board posting like getting your butt kicked when beer muscles go badly. People, and especially when they are passionate about ISU sports and things go wrong a little to frequently, will post about anything when they know the worst thing can happen by posting a message is getting your post deleted or being banned. Don't take any of it personally just because somebody doesn't agree with you.

Well ISU has not done well in Basketball or football for well over a 1200 days and we are bored. We have nothing to talk about except a RS freshman QB that has never stepped on the field and how great he looked on his YouTube video or what asst. secretary the new football coach is going to hire.

Until ISU can do something postive in football or basketball you are going to have a lot of bored people talking about anything that pops into their heads throughout the day. And these stupid discussions will continue.

A free message board will become overrun with trolls, HS kids, and idiots.

For the most part things here are great. Some people just like to be heard vs have a conversation.

Agree with most of your post, except I don't think Craig is ready for the NBA.

Why do you think this?

I think he is ready for the NBA right now although I doubt he goes after this year.

There have been far worse players than him that have been lottery picks the last 5 years. He is tall and athletic. He has a good jumper, his mid-range game is improving.

Look at the games he puts up 30+ points. The NBA scouts are going to watch his games against Iowa and the big 12. He needs to add some strength so he can get his butt on the blocks and score in the posts more. He has the range for the NBA, but everyone is his size in the NBA and he needs to work on his inside game before moving on.

One or maybe two more years before he is a top 15 pick. Now he is probably a 2nd rounder.

When your team plays with a little fire in their gut, they look much better. Losing with no fire is much worse than losing while trying. When you make the other team look inept and win, it is much better. Players were proving a point tonight. Yes!

Toughness is overrated to most NBA scouts. Their past draft history is proof of this.

NBA is a different game. They don't play on the blocks very often if at all. Big guys catch the ball 10 feet from the basket and make plays from there (see KG).

Craig has more of a game for the NBA than he does for ISU's offense

People are just becoming jaded. The positivity of the early '00 era has now worn off, and all we have seen is crap for the last few years.
