Lot G7 was extremely packed last year. Sounds like it will be even more so this year. Security was packing us in like sardines. No room for tailgating games.

It may be some extra work, but imo they should try to get ahold of those who might be moved and let them know what additional donation it would take to hold their location, at least so they know what's coming so they don't get a surprise in their mailbox. Would also help drive donation levels higher.
Besides being a logistical nightmare, if people know they will call, then they will not pony up until called. Bad marketing idea. ISU wants people to worry so they give what they can and hope it is enough. That stimulates donations. Next year we will see another jump in donations for seats AND parking and that is what we need to move to the next level. The weak will get left behind. GO CYCLONES!!

Classless. FTR, no issues with parking here - but to call people that donate less than others weak is pathetic.

wow sounds great. We've been in A2 for 4 years and got bumped to G7. I even got a letter from JP thanx for goin 110%. I thought at least there might be more room in the grass. All my friends and family are now on the other side of the stadium.

1) Dead on with the parking part and the motivation to donate.
2) Should have omitted the "weak left behind" part. It's hard to say where the $250 donation was for that guy.

Get used to this problem people demand is never a bad thing!

For those that felt they got booted away from your friends, a couple things.

1. Ask your friends "Friend how much do you donate"
2. Donate as much as your friends
3. Talk with friends, make sure everyone cares as much as you do about tailgating together
4. When completing season ticket form specifically name (with Cyclone Club #) who you do want to tailgate with and follow up with email
5. Come back to CF to complain that everyone got booted to a different lot that requires much lower donation.

If you are only at States, I am surprised you were in the concrete lots last year. Likely your tenure (14yrs) saved you. I upped my contribution 10 fold during Chizik's first year as I saw this coming a mile away.

The game is what matters at the end of the day anyhow. Be happy you have tickets.

Personally I don't enjoy tailgating in the paved lots. Tailgating in G7 is worth requesting a "downgraded" lot and the longer walk.

That's why we get there early and get a spot in the grass around the stadium. Wouldnt like having to actually tailgate on the pavement.

430AM arrival time on sept 1. So ready.

My group had no problems with space for tailgating games in G7. Bags, ladder golf, and a pong/cup table were all used.

Disagree. It does no good to get donations through fear frustrated customers. You're just as likely to lose donors who are unhappy they couldn't get the courtesy of a call for the amount they give. Especially if those being moved down were of adequate donor level according to the charts distributed by the AD.

As far as logistical nightmare, given how many calls i've gotten from the ISU foundation, surely some phone-dialers could be rounded up to call with the 'due to high demand, we may not be able to guarantee you the same parking as last year. if you wish to keep your spot, an additional donation will be required for 2012' spiel.

This happens every year, no tears for anyone. Only way it won't happen every year is if we start going 2-10 habitually. Best just to contact whomever is in charge before you donate.

I actually agree with rebecacy on this. Courtesy calls are a no win for the AD.

this is good until they promise a lot, get the donation, and then run out of room or mis-assign the person that upped their donation. then you're likely to lose that donor for good

In a way, I do agree with this statement. It is not like the AD is going to start cold calling random people and threatening them they might lose their spot if they don't pony up.

If I would have had a courtesy call, I would have gladly paid the extra cash to stay where I am at. Apparently, it looks like I will likely be moved instead. I understand being bumped, but hindsite is 20/20.
