Pancheros is by far the best! However, Qdoba has a three or four cheese queso that is amazing. Chipolte is just plain disgusting.

I do not understand why Qdoba or Chipotle do not press their own shells. It makes a HUGE difference in the taste of the burrito.

1. Panchero's
2. Chipotle...Chipotle IS really good, but Ames should embrace Panchero's because eventually there will be as many Chipotle's as McDonalds. I have one 4 blocks and 12 blocks from my place, they're like locusts. Embrace the high quality local option.
3. Baja Fresh
4. Qdoba (don't like Qdoba actually)

Fighting burrito drunk at 2 am > all 3 of those

If you're talking about 2005 maybe, when they used to load the burritos so big they used to burst, literally. Now there is barely any meat in them and when you ask for more they look at you like, 'huh?'.

My vote is for Chipotle. Also heard good things about Mr. Burrito in Ames and Pablo's in Waterloo but haven't tried them, anyone care to comment on those?

I've had Freebirds down in College Station. I'd put IC Panchero's ahead of it.

Maybe I was just expecting more from a burrito joint that close to Mexico, but I was pretty disappointed.

Burrito's are actually a Mexican American invention for the most part...or so says Rick Bayless on his white-dude-Mexican-cooking show. Doesn't matter, they're good.
