The closer this storm is getting the more probability this storm may become epic for certain areas. The low is suppose to move out of the Texas/Oklahoma/Arkansas area into central Missouri and the sort of "backup," if you will, into central/eastern Iowa and then stall out in the Iowa/Minnesota/Wisconsin and just dump snow. A few days ago the storm was suppose to wind down Friday- now it has been extended to end sometime Saturday since it is suppose to stall.

It will be very interesting how this all plays out... stay tuned!

I was hoping to head to Nebraska yesterday, but my Dad told me that roads in Nebraska were pretty bad. Now I think I'm stuck until maybe Saturday. The problem is that everyone has a different story about the road conditions.

Where at in Nebraska? (I ask because we're heading there Saturday)

West Des Moines roads were wet...no ice that I saw. Travel conditions were normal for me. WDM did a good job getting salt/sand on the roads through the night last night...even if they did wake me up around 3am.

I drove the back roads from Ankeny to Des Moines today. No problems and full speed.

Here in extreme southwest Iowa, it's been lightly raining for an hour or two. The temperature is hovering right around 32F, and a little bit of icing is occurring. I have not been on the roads yet, but I suspect they are fine around here and with the temperature forecast to rise a few degrees today, it shouldn't get bad until tonight when we drop back down to freezing or below.

Depends on how far into the state you are going. They are perfect in Omaha still as of this morning. May get to be some freezing mess during the day though depending on where the weather pattern lands exactly.

I drove from West Des Moines to downtown and didn't have a problem. People were going a little bit slow just because it was hard to tell if there was ice (my car was saying it was 32).
