I'm surprised teams don't try just holding like that in any desperate situation. Might as well try it. It was clearly the strategy.
Those of you complaint about the number of holds not called, I’m starting to think you’re just not used to seeing explosive defensive ends, because football has been called this way for all of eternity.
Only laughing at how hard it is for us to get a holding call in our favor!
It shows you when you have a system of almost flawless fundamental football and good line play, the talent gap shrinks by a lot. They are going to be a very tough out, soon cheer for whoever plays them as far as the conference race goes. Because we don’t want it coming down to the game against them. Haven’t exactly been on the right side of that one for the last decade.
We could also just beat Okie State next to help our own cause.
Not much to complain about today. OLine really took charge of the game early, Purdy, Hall, TEs firing on all cylinders . Defense was salty as always, held Tacos to 58 yds total rushing yards. The comparison of the stats is the most lopsided against a conference opponent that I can remember. Props to Manning/Heacock for having great gameplans and calling a good game. So fun to finally see the Cyclones dominate an opponent.
No worries, and I wasn't referring to your comment about laughing really. Just remembering how much our guys get held.
They gained more yards in the 4th than they did in the first 3 quarters, and we still helped our averages a lot for the year
