We match up well with Wisconsin.

It’s amazing that none of the media asked TJ about Enaruna or Jackson. We are a better team with them both playing. I hope they both play on Sunday. Jackson is due for a big game.

I’m not questioning TJ. I repeat not questioning him.

Since it appears Tre is out of the dog house I wonder if they’ll think about using him and Hunter together a bit. I’m not talking a lot. But Gabe is our secondary ball handler and it seems like it’s hard for him.

I like it for resting starters and an occasional rebound by Enaruna. Otherwise, I thought Tre's shot looked awful. Can someone tell me why I think every 3 that Grill shoots I think it's going in, and every '3' Hunter shoots I think it's not. Thank goodness his did tonight.

Several of Grill's shots tonight were in and out or looked good. Ill timed on a couple though. Just burn some clock and reverse the ball if the shot's not in rhythm.

I’m not sure why you think every shot by Caleb is going in. He’s been like he was tonight most of the year.

Wisconsin is not very good defensively and are terrible at forcing turnovers. Outside of Johnny Davis, Wisky is not overwhelmingly talented on the offensive side of the floor. It would be a partisan Badger crowd, but based on what they are showing tonight, Iowa State's style could give them problems. The X factor is if Davis gets hot and takes over the game himself.
I've watched on TV Davis do that very thing too many times. Don't think we wanted that matchup.

Oh, I know. Don't need to tell me that. I just think when it leaves his hand, he's going to make it. Guess I just want it so bad for him.....I mean another one of those KState six 3-pointer games. Can't remember the last time Grill made two in a row.

Its unbelievable to me that Jackson and Enaruna get benched for lacking defense. But then Gabe doesn’t get benched for being lazy on rebounds, stupid fouls, not valuing the basketball, and bombing 3s when it’s completely not called for. If anyone needs to be in the doghouse its GK.

I agree with you about Gabe. There were a couple of occurrences of bad shots and turnovers I was thinking, damn this guy is going to lose the game for us. He was better on defense though I’ll give him that.

Hey, did you guys hear Niclkelberry was an interim first time head coach? Wow, such adversity for those LSU kids...did you guys catch that? About the coach? The adversity? His interim status?

That muffled substitution/technical by Nickelberry was not a good look. LMAO

I got slammed earlier in the year for questioning Gabe's shooting and suggesting that TJ should coach him not to shoot as much. Especially if he misses his first couple/few 3's. It is clear now that Gabe is just not a good shooter. He does play a lot because I think he hustles and gives it his all, and plays good defense. I think he is being more careful with turnovers also, not being as reckless.

We will have our best chance at success if Gabe defers shooting too many 3's, especially after early misses (He does have a small chance to be hot). I think in large part that is what he is doing now. I don't think he is shooting many 3's when he knows he's not hitting. He can shoot if he has to, clock running down, last resort, etc. It is his defense, driving and mid-range/short game that is still needed.

It's easy to be back-seat coaches and I'll admit to not understanding why Enaruna and Jackson have not played as much of late. It was good in that regard to seeing them both play a good amount today. We need them playing and contributing.

Am I seeing this correctly? We only attempted 5 non-3 point shots in the second half and three of them were long 2s.. and one was the Grill dunk. We only attempted 8 non-3 point shots in the first half?

I think that we're going to need him to try to lock down Davis, but you make a good point. He's been horrible in every aspect outside of defense.

I think that may be a tendency we can exploit. He looks like a guy who can get frustrated and force things.

So thankful we have TJ as the Iowa State Basketball Coach. Amazing job. From 2 wins to 21 wins and Round of 32.

FIFY. But that reminds me, isn't ISU now #1 or #2 all time in year-over-year +wins differential? Somebody posted a graphic a few months ago when we got up to +15 or so but I can't find it....

Good grief. We just won our 21st game of the season by beating a higher seed for a first round NCAA Tournament victory. Why in the f*cking hell can't people just enjoy this moment instead of demanding that Player X be put in the doghouse?
