Last night concerned me how many open 3 pointers we allowed. So I checked. Last year we allowed 33.7% shooting from 3 point line. That ranked us 183rd in the country. 9th out of 10 conference teams.

It seemed like Green Bay had figured out, as will everyone, pass away from the double team, find the wide open shooter. So I think our defense causes turnovers and limits points in the paint, but if a team has a couple 3 point shooters, they could pick us apart.

Overall, I really like this team and we have some fantastic potential. But we do seem to have that one weakness. What's better this year, unlike last season, I think we have the offensive firepower to outscore a team that does happen to hit several 3's. I expect a fun season for sure!!
It’s the first game. Good analysis, but hard to say already that it will be an issue. Majority of GB’s 3s came in the second half when ISU was up 30+

I mean, they shot 33 of them and only made 8. For that team, it seems like allowing that shot paid off.

Gilbert had 2 assists and no turnovers against Green Bay. I noticed he averaged 2.8 turnovers/game last year at UNLV. I wonder if he made a big improvement in his ballhandling during the off-season. He looked like he was in complete control on Monday night, but maybe that also reflects the lack of pressure from Green Bay.
