Also, see one Kenny Pratt. He was listed at 6'5" but I always thought that was pretty generous.
And what they both had was sand in their pants. This doesn't work if you don't have a bit of weight because you will just get pushed around. Pratt had a big butt that he knew how to use. Stevie wasn't fat but he was definitely solid as evidenced by his success at LB on the FB team after his BB days were over. THT has that same solidness about him and with his length should be able to guard bigger players.

We won't tell THT that you said he has a big butt.

THT had a 36" vertical as well if I remember correctly. Stevie's wasn't bad, but I think THT's is much better than Pratt's. Does anyone know what Burton's vertical was?

According to this article, it was 40” when he was attending NBA workouts.
Not sure what it was when he was THT’s age.

Thanks cyclonedave25. Saved me looking it up. Shorter defenders with long arms and good ups make for great off ball defenders, but felt Burton used to get abused a bit on ball, even with good weight.

Just realized I forgot to paste the article.
It’s actually a neat little read about Deonte’s journey.

Looking at that picture of Burton, you see how solid he has sculpted his body over time. I remember hearing Georges talk about learning to change his diet as fuel for the athlete. I look forward to seeing THT in a Cycline uniform as Burton may be his best comparison, but hope he gets coaching from Niang so he gets to that full potential sooner.

I see THT as an aggressive Clyburn-type player with more strength to finish at the basket, plus think he'll play a majority of the time at ISU at the SG/SF position. Clyburn had length, good handle and ability to shoot from outside, only knock on his game would be he deferred to other players for periods. THT is more of an alpha. Loved Burton style but he relied on his athleticism rather than skill which is why his best position was an undersized PF. Burton was always a coveted recruit due to his potential an freak plays but, was rough on the skill aspect. Part of why THT took a while to get the national attention was that his athleticism was underwhelming forcing him to refine the rest of his game. As he matured and focused on improving that aspect his body improved and rankings rose (ala Niang).

Clyburn could score from all places on the court but I felt like he never had a go-to spot for when we needed a quick basket. I believe THT goes to the paint or hits from the perimeter if the team needs a quick score. I also agree on the Burton comparisons but THT is far more polished, even right now. Let's hope his versatility also converts to defense and he will play 25-30 minutes this next season.

Is Wahl still scheduled to visit?

Have to imagine the top two targets at guard right now are Tandy, McKinney and Wilson. Lewis seems like a long shot at this point. Leech thing is still a mystery. Seems like they are in a good spot with both Wahl and Anderson.

Yes Wahl is visiting... actually June 12 (Tomorrow) for an unofficial. I agree with your target list as of today, but that will be changing (priorities, new names) over the next 6 weeks when the contact period and critical AAU evaluation time really gets ramped up. I think the next contact period is this weekend.
Side note, I would like Prohm to identify and fill the open coaching position couple of weeks, especially assuming they have some new target connections that could fit ISU future roster.
