I heard they hired his AAU coach

Yes, and he stayed in state... MSU fans are rather upset, since they were the heavy favorite up to recently.

Let's see if Weems stays committed their though. Tyger Campbell (4 start PG) committed to the Blue Devils last summer due to Asst. Coach connections only to later de-commit and head to UCLA. I get simular vibes here.
It would be good for DePaul to get some local kids stay home and become competitive in the Big East. They did just get a new arena and look to be committing to the MBB program. Of course, with Prohm trying to build a pipeline to Illinois it would be better if they stay as a bottom dweller.

It's funny. I went to the MSU board to see what they were saying. It's like they are completely unaware that Michigan State is seen as this horrible place right now with all the "Sweeping the sexual assaults" under the table. You could not pay me to send my son or daughter to that school.
DePaul actually makes sense to me. He is a 4 star. Not like a top 10 kid. DePaul has great academics. His AAU coach is now on staff. He can be a big fish in a small pond. Get's to stay close to home.

Yeah, Depaul sure seems like a sleeping giant.

He’s from Michigan so he did not stay in state

Under the radar, but are we striking out with big fish?
He'll probably blow up to a 4 star prospect soon. Prohm has a history of offering these under the radar guys early before they start getting a lot of attention.

Update with EJ Lindell. Doesn't specifically mention ISU but no favorite has emerged. Will be taking a visit to OSU and cut his list in July..
https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/eybl-hampton-ej-liddell-remains-a-wanted-man

RIVALS' REACTION
Averaging 13.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and impacting the game in a number of other ways, Liddell has a game that should translate well to the college level thanks to his toughness, versatility and skillset in the frontcourt.
Visiting Ohio State next month, no favorites have emerged just yet for the top-50 junior as his recruitment should only pick up from here as the top programs throughout his region and beyond will place an even greater priority on the Rivals150 prospect.

MSU could be a dumpster fire with recruiting for basketball especially. Sounds like Izzo may not be around long.... heading to the NBA possibly.

Recap of the Adidas Gauntlet Tourney featuring 3 ISU targets.

https://247sports.com/college/baske...adidas-Regional-Gauntlet-in-Chicago-118604741

"Tyler Wahl, SF/PF, D1 Minnesota – With point guard Tyrell Terry out for the weekend, Wahl assumed those duties and more than held his own. Wahl made good decisions with the basketball, moved his feet well on defense, and showed good athleticism. Not the best shooter, Wahl does basically everything else, and proved himself as one of the better prospects in the Midwest.
Recruiting: Wisconsin, Minnesota, Butler, Iowa State, Northwestern

Ben Carlson, PF, D1 Minnesota – Carlson missed the final few games with a slight injury, but before going down due to injury he played as well as he had all spring long. He finished above the rim with dunks, was good rebounding the basketball, and also blocked a few shots. Add in a perimeter jumper, and there was a lot to like with how Carlson played on the weekend.
Recruiting: Iowa State, Stanford, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Indiana, Purdue

Niven Glover, SG, Team Knight – An elite, elite athlete who has a developing jumper, Glover was impressive over the weekend. Glover has improved as a catch and shoot guy, and also is showing his explosion attacking with dribbles off the bounce. While his offensive game is continuing to come around, Glover remains a very high potential defender and someone who can really rebound from the guard spot.
Recruiting: Georgia Tech, Georgia, Florida International, Kansas State, Iowa State, Pittsburgh"

It's really interesting that we heard Prohm say he wants to stick with 3 perimeter players for this class, but yet it seems like over half of our offers are to forwards at this point.

Of course, we may end up having more than 3 spots if Wigginton leaves, which seems likely. And of course there is always the possibility of other attrition.

I would think ISU should be pretty set at the SF with Horton-Tucker, Griffin, Lewis and if we get conformation Leech. That said those guys are able to switch between 2-4 depending on matchups so adding another versatile wing isn't an issue. Get the best talent and fit your team to it.

I don' know why everyone wants to keep sating THT can play the 4. He just measured 6'4 with shoes at the Team USA try out. That is way to damn short to play the 4 honestly.

Unless you have a 7’1 wingspan and weigh 240Lbs..

Dont see him playing the 4 a ton but i could see it at some point bc he can post up and score around the rim.
