Hot board meaning the kids interest in ISU, or ISUs interest in the kid?

I'd hope EJ Liddell is higher than 8 for ISU wanting him.

Not that it matters, but is this your preference on players, Prohm's priority as of Mid-June or likeliness of the staff getting a commitment?

This is who we are going after with interest from both sides so most likely to land, IMO.

They wanted to visit him it just didn't work out, he's still pretty high priority I just think he's not that likely.

That just seems like code for one of the parties not being as interested. So maybe it is on his side. In two recent articles on Rivals Iowa State wasn't among the schools mentioned.

The schools that Lidell and Rivals talked about were KState, Ohio State, Missouri and Illinois.

Or maybe it just didn't work out. That happens as well.

Could be. But doesn't seem likely with how diligent and relentless Prohm is in recruiting. Regardless, I think I would rather have Wahl than Liddell. Wahl looks like he is going to continue to rise and his versatility is really really impressive.

The latter may be true, but not wanting Liddell over him is just crazy talk.

Need to get one of Wahl, Anderson and Liddell then go all out on the other two and take first to commit. No need to go after anyone else once we have one, and if we don't get either of the other two, oh well.

I think Wahl is closer to a guard, and wouldn't put him in the category of Anderson, Liddell, or Drew Timme, who are solid PFs.

I wonder if this is the hold up on the Leech commitment. Maybe they're telling Leech they have to wait to see where Wahl stands. It sounds like they both play the 3.

While I do find the leech commitment odd I don’t see why we wouldn’t take both. Possibly 5 open spots next year

Prohm would take both. Playing games on contingent scholarships offers can easily losing out on both.
We shouldn't lock Leech or Wahl into just playing SF either. I think they switch 2-4 positions (Wahl is even playing PG for his AAU team now) depending on lineups that ISU can use. FWIW Wahl is thought to be a Wisconsin lean early in his recruitment that obviously fluid. I believe the staff is prioritizing him and he has genuine interest in ISU but it isn't a lock.

There is a definite pecking order when it comes to recruits. We saw that last year when we told McKinely Wright we weren’t ready for his commitment.

I’m not saying that is the reason, but there is clearly more than meets the eye with Leech and that’s one possibility.

Also, I’ve watched highlights from Wahl and he’s not a guard. A SF is pretty much what he is. Leech might have a little more guard ability however but I still think SF is what Leech is.

We will also have Lewis who is a 2/3 plus THT and Zion, so I highly doubt they would take both Leech and Wahl.

They would take both Leech and Wahl, and one of Anderson or Liddell if they got Leech and Wahl. Other two would be a PG for sure and then a SG or CG.
