I get that the Cincy coach is getting desperate, but man, you can’t whine so much when your team plays hackball. We get it, that was TJ’s initial identity to get wins, we’ve had other coaches in the past play that way to a degree (Floyd, Eustachy). As a coach, you’re going to try and push the boundaries and many nights, the refs will allow teams who play more physical to get away with it so their foul numbers end more even. See Bob Huggins. It’s an unfair advantage and officials need to not allow for it. Looks like this crew heard TJ loud and clear. All he probably said was “enforce the GD rulebook.”

This game was worrying me. They are fringe bubble. Won a few. James is amazing. This was a really solid W.
Mental fortitude is better now than it was at several points in the last month. West Virginia, like Cincinatti, had one guy going off and beat us when we gave up 14 turnovers on the road. Today Iowa State was good enough to not take care of the ball, one guy going off, and still win by 11.

Over the course of 40 minutes, the whistle evened out. That meant Cincy finally got called for excessive contact after halftime. They can whine and moan all they want, but I don’t think there was a single call against them after halftime that wasn’t warranted.
Outside the T's, I felt the officiating was pretty consistent - which is all one can ask for. T's seemed thin-skinned somewhat, but since K Gilbert's call (which was warranted, but I support him doing so there), they must have felt they had to control the game & call some more. Seemed like a chatty game & it was getting heated as Cincy has little room for error.

You can’t tell me he hadn’t already committed way more than 5 fouls, so I’m not feeling sorry for him.
I hope they can work that out, but they probably can't do too much. It's the difference between losing in the round of 32 or 16, and maybe a trip to the final four.

Well we are still in 4th. It doesn't feel like we are the 4th best team in the big 12. It feels like we are better than that.
Tech still has to play Houston at home and Kansas on the road. Arizona still has to come here and go to Kansas.

Decent chance if we win out or just lose at Houston to finish 2 or 3 in the league. More importantly getting to the 2 seed line.

win against Colo on Tuesday and then 'what should have been' our biggest game of the year is there for us next Saturday. Not sure if we have a puncher's chance or not. Probably depends on if we can hit shots. I like us when we are the underdog though.
