It wasn’t my opinion in question. You certainly must not have.

Very encouraged by how Dubar looked. Kid is jacked for a freshman. You can see that Walker and Blackwell both have the potential to be very good, as well. Love the length of those 3 & the flexibility they give you.
Harris is quick & shot well from 3. I thought JCL was fine, but was hoping for a little more from him. I was not at all impressed with Johnson. Also, I was hoping to see marked improvement from Conditt, but didn’t. Foster has potential, but he looked like a freshman, albeit a tall freshman. He may develop but it’s going to take time.
The Big 12 is really tough this year & it’s going to take this team a while to figure it out. It’s early but I’m guessing we are an NIT bubble team this year. The future sure looks great though!
I remember that a couple of weeks later, maybe late December, I was talking to a coworker who was going on about how the basketball team really sucked again. She’d competed on an ISU team.Tbh I don’t remember the expectations for that Cyclone team at the beginning of the year. I doubt it was them winning a big 12 title and being good enough to win it all.
what word would you use for it?
Except we saw those flashes as a freshman. The staff has really stuck him in that bruiser non factor on offense role. Nothing against him, but he doesn't really have the personality to fight out of that role. You still see flashes, but I think he could have been a pretty dominant big man. When he plays free and energetic on the offensive side of the ball he can be great. He in the past has shown an ability to add an outside shot. He can do stuff offensively. That said the staff doesn't encourage it and seems to discourage it even.I don't agree. He's battled injuries, which has obviously kept him from where he could be, but last 15 games last year he averaged over 11 ppg, with 6 games over 15. After Conditt got a shot starting, Solo didn't sulk. Back in the starting lineup, he played hard and well. He'll never be a dominant big man and I agree with the post that, ideally, he'd be backing up a really good center. But that doesn't mean he's regressed or that the staff has held him back.
Gonzaga KU was close until I think about 8 minutes left and they went on an offensive flurry. I’ve watched both their games. They are the best team in the country easily right now so KU losing by 12 really isn’t bad with all the new faces they were playing. We'll see just how much the top-half progresses; So far Kansas got smoked by Gonzaga and Texas Tech currently down 20 to Houston.
You marked like 7 of my replies dumb. What are you smoking tonight?
Curt hates it when anyone speaks anything remotely critical about Steve Prohm's coaching
Smoking nothing but a lot of people had really dumb takes during the first half of the game.
That was one of our biggest problems last year -- we had a bunch of guards who all generally did the same thing. These guys seem to have more diverse game styles already, just after 1 game. That's worth something.Hopefully Harris can be what this team missed last year: A consistent 3 point threat. He looked the part today.
For example?
I think the good old... "fire Prohm" posts by some were made mostly in jest, but possibly not.
Other than that.... we played like total s**t the entire 1st half.... there was nothing good to take from it honestly. Even the 2nd half wasn't great..... albeit it was 10x better than the 1st half.
The 2nd half at least showed in spurts what we're capable of doing.... now it will just be a matter of trying to play like those spurts for 30-40 mins of a game instead of just a handful of minutes.
I mean, ALL of your sports takes are dumb. It’s hard to narrow it down to just two or three. What were my bad takes from the game? I thought we started off shooting way too many 3's, especially when we weren't hitting them (and Eric Heft said the exact same thing on the radio btw). What else did I say that you thought was a bad take? Are people upset that I think Foster has a ways to go?? Well... Prohm said that a couple weeks ago too. Anything else?
I'm pretty sure all my "bad takes" were also being said by John and Eric on the radio.... so I'm curious what you're referring to?
Regarding whether what he said was "misogynistic" or not.... what word would you use for it? It wasn't painting women in a good light at all. And lacked any kind of understanding of what she actually did too.
For example?

It was still the first half of the first game. ******* christ impatience at it's finest. We have 3 new transfers and 4 new freshman playing in their first ISU game and people think they are going to come out flawless. Oh and then throw in that COVID messed up practice schedules so they couldn't be practicing full squad vs full squad as much as they normally would.
You are on full tilt after one game. You let other people's opinions get to you way way way way way too easily. Let it go, is it worth being so pent up?
I think people would be more patient if Prohm ever really put out a product that suggested good preparation. It was still the first half of the first game. ******* christ impatience at it's finest. That’s one question I have about this staff—and I mean question.Except we saw those flashes as a freshman. The staff has really stuck him in that bruiser non factor on offense role. Our offense historically has been best when we can have 1-5 on the perimeter. Young can do that some. He is never going to be a great threat, but he could have developed into a decent enough threat to keep people honest. Now we just have 5's that take up space or allow help away from them.
Whoa. You mean, like one that won a Big XII championship or two?I think people would be more patient if Prohm ever really put out a product that suggested good preparation.
SDSU is going to be a good challenge - they played great against WVU. Hope we're ready to play.
