Tbh I don’t remember the expectations for that Cyclone team at the beginning of the year. I doubt it was them winning a big 12 title and being good enough to win it all.

Someone can correct me, but I believe they were picked to finish 9th.

I think every cyclone fan supports every sport regardless of sport. Misogynistic... what’s a good word for gender baiting?

I guess that's true that you can support the ISU WBB team even if you are prejudiced against women. I was wrong to say that he possibly couldn't support the WBB team.... my bad.

Very encouraged by how Dubar looked. Kid is jacked for a freshman. You can see that Walker and Blackwell both have the potential to be very good, as well. Love the length of those 3 & the flexibility they give you.

Harris is quick & shot well from 3. I thought JCL was fine, but was hoping for a little more from him. I was not at all impressed with Johnson. Also, I was hoping to see marked improvement from Conditt, but didn’t. Foster has potential, but he looked like a freshman, albeit a tall freshman. He may develop but it’s going to take time.

The Big 12 is really tough this year & it’s going to take this team a while to figure it out. It’s early but I’m guessing we are an NIT bubble team this year. The future sure looks great though!
Johnson has not played an actual game in over a year. Give him time to get back in the flow. He did score 8 points in about 90 seconds.

At the HS level yeah.

which means what for his success at ISU?

Foster shooting 32.2% from a 19ft9in line against 3A competition is very different from shooting a 22ft2in line against Big 12 competition

e.g. Mike Jacobson was a 37% shooter at Waukee and left college 28%

Maybe Foster will be the next Antetokounmpo but calling him a good 3P shooter because he shot 32% against Pella and DCG is premature, IMO

Hopefully he is a good enough shooter that you have to respect it

I'm very excited to see Dubar play with all the positive comments about him today.

From just the highlights of the game I saw.... Walker sure looks tall. I knew he was a 6'5" PG, which is awesome, but he almost looked even taller than that from the short highlight clips of him. I'm excited for his future here for sure.

They weren't very high by way of media projections but they DID have Marcus Fizer.

This year's team doesn't have much for expectations either and don't have a returning McDs AA and people are freaking out about a rough first half.

I have low expectations for other reasons and can get rankled on here during games but a bad first first half of the season really sent some folks into a deep, dark place.

Do you know this person in real life?

Does he know me in real life? Nope. That's my point.

If he's going to judge me by a few words, I guess I'll judge him by the words he used in the Vandy woman kicker thread that had to be shut down because of the misogynistic comments being made on there by him and others.

Hopefully Harris can be what this team missed last year: A consistent 3 point threat. He looked the part today.

Agree.... he could be a HUGE addition to this team. Him and Lands give me some hope! And Dubar too the way many on here are talking.

To be fair, you had so many bad takes. Didn’t even watch the game and was criticizing everything. As for those comments, they aren’t misogynistic. Very dumb word.

What were my bad takes from the game? I thought we started off shooting way too many 3's, especially when we weren't hitting them (and Eric Heft said the exact same thing on the radio btw). What else did I say that you thought was a bad take? Are people upset that I think Foster has a ways to go?? Well... Prohm said that a couple weeks ago too. Anything else?

I'm pretty sure all my "bad takes" were also being said by John and Eric on the radio.... so I'm curious what you're referring to?

Regarding whether what he said was "misogynistic" or not.... what word would you use for it? It wasn't painting women in a good light at all. And lacked any kind of understanding of what she actually did too.
