It looks to me from several of the nunbers that have been posted in this thread that Auburn shoots a lot of threes. Hopefully they have an off night. It will probably come down to that and can we turn them over. 3 point shooting is such a huge determining factor in basketball that probably seems like a captain obvious statement, but seems even more important when a team shoots the volume that they do.

It looks like they do a good job of taking care of the basketball. If they are limiting turnovers and forcing us into a half court game most possessions it's probably not going to go well for us.

I hate that they've already played Houston. Teams consistently say there is no way to prepare for ISUs defense in practice, but we don't get that advantage here.

And what's worse, Auburn matched Houston blow for blow. They had a freshman go unconscious from 3 in the second half that game to get them over the line.

Obviously no one can be sure how reliable of a performance that is coming from a player who has been playing college basketball for less than month, but I do think that Broom is going to test our new bigs in a way that they haven't seen.

I'm not sure who comes out ahead, but I do have a feeling less than 146.5 points will be scored.

I'm thinking it's a hard-fought race to 60.

I have a feeling this is going to be somewhat like the tournament last year in Orlando: early season hiccups
I tend to agree. Especially this 1st game. Hope I'm wrong but have a feeling we could get stunned a bit by Auburn tonight compared to the level of competition we have faced thus far (bad). Quite the speed and athleticism jump up for our guys.

And we haven’t really played much basketball yet this season. A game every 7 days. And I imagine this will be the first game where we play and run things like we will through the Big 12. Going to have to play who we will and show everything to beat auburn.

Maybe, in the post, but our guards should not be surprised by anything.

I think Jefferson will be fine he has played against some good competition while at St Mary's.

ISU's continuity has looked good so far and that is important as you try to incorporate new guys.

If our front line is better than last year, and I think it is, ISU should have a good shot to take down Auburn.

Auburn does have maybe the best big in the country. Guy should be in NBA :)

Nice for once that tourney doesn't overlap with football. Also John and Eric get to do this amazing Maui tourney and still be back for Saturday night,

Still counting last football one from this past weekend I'm looking at 5 gameday threads in 8 days.
I will look in to your overtime pay. You will be advised of your pay increase at a later date.

The good news is Dishon Jackson is a tank, so hopefully he can keep Broome in check. Broome is definitley quicker than Jackson, but maybe Jackson can prevent Broome from pushing his way around. This is a game that could go either way. I'm hoping this is a super competitive team where the guys at least play quality ball. It's also early enough in the season that it'll be easy to recover and build on this if we come out unprepared. Not going to make a prediction here as I really don't know.

Broome can hit the 12-15 footer..Guy has mad skill.

It starts with making it hard on their guards to feed the post.

We had our bad shooting night from the 3pt line last time out. They’ll be on fire tonight and cruise over Pearl’s in-fighting squad.

Iowa State 78. Paper tigers 69.

If I was trying to pump sunshine a little for ISU's hopes in this game it would be that our guys know each other well going into the first game against top competition. Auburn already has beat Houston so we need that just to be in it I think.
