Newsflash; it's not going to be as fragile as you clearly want it to be.

The home losses are frustrating, I get it. Close road losses suck too. But at this point there is still likely a 90% chance we'll make the tournament, and from there, who knows what can happen?

If you honestly think Prohm deserves to be fired after a season (or that the question should even be asked) in which we make the tournament, after winning a grand total of 13 games the previous season because we didn't win the Big 12 regular season title (since no coach after LE has done that), you are out of your damn skull, and there's no other way I can put that.
There is no way we don’t make the tournament. We could lose out and we still make the tournament. So many quadrant one wins for us already.

I'm confused with your line of thinking. From 2012 -2017 we averaged 11.3 wins per season. Are we going to end up with more than that? Even if you add in last years 4 win season, which i think is an statistical outlier, we averaged over 10 wins per season. So are we going to end up with more than that? with the way things are going that looks doubtful.

I dont understand why you aren't allowed to criticize prohm and point out how much he is underachieving without being called a drama queen?

What are you confused about? this team will finish right about where all of our teams in recent years have. I never said you couldn't criticize, I just think you are a drama queen

so pretty much it will just average out every year no matter how good the talent
Where is all this great talent?

Wigginton and Shayok could start on any team in the conference.
THT would be a role player on any team in the conference.

Of the rest, I don't think one would see rotation minutes at Kansas, Tech, or Kansas State.
Lard because he's a defensive liability if he doesn't block shots and he has extremely limited offensive game.
Halliburton, NWB, and Jacobson at their absolute best are limited role players. None of them do anything great that would necessitate putting them on the floor.

Meanwhile Kansas State is rolling out Brown, Wade, Sneed, and Stokes, all of which I believe are 3 year starters in the Big 12 who played in the Elite 8 so they can't be too bad.
Kansas is Kansas. Self doesn't have to be the best coach but he is and he has the best roster. Their scout team can probably beat the bottom half of the conference teams.
Tech lost their whole damn team and reloaded with transfers so they're a surprise.

If you take the best game from every player it's easy to see talent on any team. The difference between the good teams and great teams is consistently getting the best game every night. We're lucky to get a great game from Shayok or Wigginton on any given night let alone both. When one doesn't have a great game we hope and pray THT does. If THT can't pick up the load we're done.

I wouldn’t call the offense lethal...streaky at best most night closer to skid marks.
So I'm curious...how do we lead the league every year in offensive efficiency? Maybe your eye test isn't very good or you don't watch enough Big 12 basketball to see how good our offense is compared to the garbage in Manhattan or Lubbock.

It's a message board, so I get that criticizing a coach happens. But I'm a proud ISU fan, and calling out coaches and players goes totally against what I believe.
I like coach and the way he represents our university. If someone told me before the season that we would be in the mix for a conference championship and headed to the dance, I would have taken it in a heartbeat.

I see the argument now is that we actually don't have the talent that Jay Bilas & Jay Williams thought we did. I am not arguing that they are right, but it makes me wonder how Kansas with 3 starters out for the game, started 4 freshmen, and 3 fouled out beat TCU at TCU?

Bill Self.

If Bill was coaching ISU this season, would they be 8-6 in the league right now? I am pretty confident they would be better than that. I think he could win the league with the roster we have this year.

I love to read dumb posts after a game, but this has to be one of the dumbest! We could give zero effort, have the worst coach ever and have a 1-25 record and I would NEVER hope we lose a game, let alone the rest of them!
This season we just need to pack in it’s just gonna end in disappointment.

Maybe we should hire him. Seems like we could steal him from KU

I get what you are saying here, but I stand by what I said last week and got blasted for. We may have good talent but can't believe fans think we have 'more' than everyone. We love what NWB and Tyrese do from the guard positions, but can you honestly say they blow by people on the dribble and create havoc or consistently hit tough clutch shots? We were 2-20 from three today and only lost by three. Amazing actually.
As for KU winning at TCU, their guards (Dotson especially) seem to be quicker, defend better and/or make clutch plays more than we do. Other than Shayok's two clutch threes at the end of the OU game, and THT & LW going off at KState, its been hard for our guys to consistently shoot well or get the clutch buckets.

This is the same **** as with Rhoads. When people started to criticize him it came with extreme blowback because he was very liked by a lot of the fan base. It took him blowing several games in close succession to finally reverse the tide. And now look where the football team is.

What is the breaking point for Prohm?

Seriously lol ? I think Rhoads is more comparable to McDermott

The narrative all season has been “this is the most talented team in the Big12”. What is everyone trying to say by repeating this? If we’re really the most talented and we are barely in the top half of the conference we either have awful chemistry and/or an awful coach.

Certainly don't have real dominant front court either. If Azabuike were healthy KU would be deemed as the most talented, easily.

It was a strong conference start, which was fun, but other teams found the weaknesses and I'm not sure if it's fixable.

One thing that I thought of today: which players compliment one another for skill sets on this team?

Comprehend it however you want I guess. Others did the same. I wasn’t comparing unilaterally Rhoads to Prohm. I was comparing the push back for criticizing them. And it being a seemingly forbidden topic on here.

McDoormat is a horrible comparison, everyone wanted him gone after his 3rd season and was thankful when Creighton swooped in and took him away.

Bill Self? Sure, Bill Self makes a difference but Phog Allen is why Kansas isn’t 8-6. We’d be 11-3 in conference play if we had Phog Allen.

Yes, we are agreeing. In every aspect, Prohm struggles against top level coaches in this conference. They use timeouts better, plays out of timeouts are more crisp, better offensive sets, better rebounding, etc. etc. Everything you expect to see out of a coach in order to win consistently at a high level is missing with this guy.

There’s a YouTube video for that.

Not saying CSP doesn't need to improve on getting something figured out for getting good looks, rotations, etc.,, but my favorite part of these clips is how, while it shows some good movement, there's still some really bad shots, total bricks, and some of the clips are from games that ISU lost like they did today, or needed miracles to win.

ISU was down, what, 10 with like 4 minutes left in the B12 tourney game vs. Texas in 2015 and down by double digits for most of it?

I used to read and listen to Hawk outlets after their losses because it was funny to hear the drama. Now I just come here. It seems to be therapeutic as I see how adults handle losses like 5 year olds. I guess it makes me feel good that I can move on as I can separate real life and a game.
