I sometimes think we, as fans, overanalyze, overthink and overreact to things. To me, this team is a bad 3 point shooting team on most nights. There's no body that shoots it well when we absolutely need the shot to go down. We start finding ways to make 35-40% of our 3s...and at huge moments...all these other problems won't be so magnified.

I would say if they're a 6 seed or higher this year, then expectations were exceeded.

I used to read and listen to Hawk outlets after their losses because it was funny to hear the drama. Now I just come here. It seems to be therapeutic as I see how adults handle losses like 5 year olds. I guess it makes me feel good that I can move on as I can separate real life and a game.

I don't think it is fair to make this comment. Sure, some may go overboard. At the end of the day, it is drama the same as any TV show, movie, etc. The difference is in sports, the "bad guy" wins more than we would like. Thus, we have this place to come and vent, discuss etc. Is it really any different than people discussing a TV show the next day? What they did and did not like about it?

If someone is hanging to this loss and can't get out of bed tomorrow, they may have issues. Most of us get fired up about it, react and then move on with our lives.

I'm not sure the narrative us having more talent was ever the right one to believe. Certainly looked believable thru 9 conference games, but the book is out on this team: let our young players make mistakes and take bad shots. Crash the glass, cuz we won't. Run offense with a lot of ball screening because we are lazy on the switches. Beat ISU

Where is all this great talent?

Wigginton and Shayok could start on any team in the conference.
THT would be a role player on any team in the conference.

Of the rest, I don't think one would see rotation minutes at Kansas, Tech, or Kansas State.
Lard because he's a defensive liability if he doesn't block shots and he has extremely limited offensive game.
Halliburton, NWB, and Jacobson at their absolute best are limited role players. None of them do anything great that would necessitate putting them on the floor.

Meanwhile Kansas State is rolling out Brown, Wade, Sneed, and Stokes, all of which I believe are 3 year starters in the Big 12 who played in the Elite 8 so they can't be too bad.
Kansas is Kansas. Self doesn't have to be the best coach but he is and he has the best roster. Their scout team can probably beat the bottom half of the conference teams.
Tech lost their whole damn team and reloaded with transfers so they're a surprise.

If you take the best game from every player it's easy to see talent on any team. The difference between the good teams and great teams is consistently getting the best game every night. We're lucky to get a great game from Shayok or Wigginton on any given night let alone both. When one doesn't have a great game we hope and pray THT does. If THT can't pick up the load we're done.

The point was that the talent which is above average and the coaching which is waayyyy under average makes for a pretty mediocre team every year. It evens out in a bad way... I don’t think prohms coaching compliments the payers in any way. Unless we had a team that was good at hitting guarded threes. I’ve never liked the starting line up and I I don’t like Jacobson in anything more than the guy that comes in to give cam alittle rest. I’ve been for a two big line up and George Conditt getting a lot more run. Getting beat is one thing but shooting yourselves out of games on a regular basis is the worst.
