Ole Reliable Rulzzz. We appreciate it but if it gets to be too much you can always take a break.

I'm hoping we can get the best of both worlds - rest Caleb so he can get back to 100% and get the win.
I can"t lie...I had a slight panic attack when I came here just a few minutes ago and didn"t see the official thread. A quick refresh of my browser fixed that.

Go Cyclones. Beat that school who doesn't even know how to spell its state name.

Put the Telephone Trophy on the line you cowards!

PS I'm so pumped for this one. Since moving to Columbia a couple years ago, I have been anxiously waiting for ISU Football or basketball to be in town.

Just to play a game of "how much does this matter," here is the Torvik projection for the postseason seeding assuming Iowa State defeats the Tigers a little later today...

And here is how it looks if the Tigers win...

It is not the most critical of games, but at this level of college basketball, slipping up in one game can cost you a line of seeding. I would rather see Iowa State as a #2 seed than a #3 seed.

Lol, Uconn? Classic case of losses not even mattering anymore if they actually got a 3 seed with a losing conference record.

Staying at 2 or 3 seed is obviously ideal, although none of the 1s are particularly scary. How crazy is it that all the 2 seeds are Big 12 in both scenarios.

The Huskies still look strong in the efficiency rankings.

Iowa State is #11 on Torvik right now. UConn is #7. They have some nice wins in their back pocket, such as neutral-site wins over Alabama and Iowa State (and it does fill me with some pride to realize that beating the Cyclones is quite a notch in your gun this season) and road wins over Florida and Xavier. I know they've had their ups and downs lately, but the committee is supposed to look at your whole body of work across the entire season, not concentrate on what you did the last few weeks of the regular season.

Torvik has them finishing 23-8 (12-8).

Iowa State is projected to finish 21-9 (12-6).

If that is the case, then projecting out those teams in the #2/#3 range is reasonable.

Too bad that Dave Armstrong retired and Mitch Holthus isn't available. One of those guys, with Sundvold, on an ISU/MU game -- all the throwback feels.
