NITology doesn't mention us.

That probably means they think that we need two wins in the conference tournament. One of those would have to come against a red hot Kansas team.

I would love for these guys to get a little post-season experience, but the year would probably still be considered a success without it. Most of our players have shown improvement from pre-season, some of them drastically so.

I think we need to reach the finals.

There are new NIT rules this year.

If I understand correctly:
1) they invite all regular season conf winners (4 small conf schools so far)
2) they cut the size from 40 to 32 teams

So basically to me that means if you are "on the bubble" for the NCAAs you'll get in the NIT, otherwise you probably won't.

The Big XII is probably only sending 4 teams to the NCAAs. That means, based purely on conf rank, there are 3 teams ahead in line for the NIT. I doubt they'd take 4 or 32 teams from a poor Big XII conference.

They have Iowa as a 5 seed. huh? I thought the hawks were good enough to be in the big dance.

I was watching the "experts" break down teams that are on the bubble and Iowa wasn't even mentioned for a bubble team. Also talking to a few people who are die-hard Hawk fans, when ISU had a decent change to get into the NIT and Iowa was looking to head to the NCAA they said the NIT is for losers and that ISU sucks. Now they look to be heading to the NIT and are saying ISU sucks because they aren't even going to make any postseason play :baffled5wh: When I told them about there previous comments about the NIT, they told me I was making sh*t up and that is what happens when you go to ISU and then ran off :laugh8kb: Good old Hawk fans!

Even if you did make it up, at least you still actually went to ISU.

Call me crazy, but if we beat kansas, what's stopping us from winning the whole thing.

Any victory in the Big 12 tournament would be a nice ending to a better-than-expected season. I'm sure we would all hit the roof if we could dump Kansas. Just the scowl on Bill Self's face alone would be priceless!
OK back to reality. KU beat us by about 40 and it felt like 80.
