We've mostly gotten guys with a little baggage or some stats that make you be a little more creative. Most of the guys we landed didn't have a lot of top 10-15 offers.

This NWG will be recruited by everyone, so it becomes a lot harder.

Maybe....with previous success and where the program is currently we should be a frontrunner with whomever Fred goes after.

2nd this RT @ChrisMWilliams: For those asking about Nigel Williams-Goss (Washington transfer) and Iowa State, don’t count on it. #Cyclones

It isn't that ISU couldn't have gotten him. I don't see ISU going after him. In fact, I know ISU won't. Don't think Otz is interested in doing that to Lorenzo Romar.

Doing what exactly? He's leaving regardless if ISU pursues him or not. That seems less bad than getting a player with a signed LOI to flip imo.

Very well said, Chris.

Thanks for the insight CW, better to nip this in the bud rather now rather than a week from now. Moving along, next target...

I feel like this would be less controversial than what Matt did to Hoiberg

I'm confused. If he hadn't been granted a release yet sure, but would it really be disrespectful to go after a him since he's leaving anyways.

Doesn't make a lot of sense to be honest. I've seen a dozen people do much worse in a business environment this morning alone. Maybe I'm completely immoral, but I don't see how recruiting a guy who left a program on his own accord would be ethically wrong in any way.

Everybody needs to relax a bit. The staff has their targets and they're executing behind the scenes. Some names will become known (NN) while others won't (for good reason). NWG is a great player and will make a great addition somewhere, but not at Iowa State. That doesn't mean that we don't have other options we're looking at, because we certainly do - some are quite exciting.

Regardless, just relax and know that Fred and crew are working their butts off and things are lining up for another great offseason. You won't see everything that occurs and won't know the decisions or understand the thinking behind some of what does surface, but that isn't a bad thing and you just need to let it go.
