I think people are sleeping on Lewis. I realize that we haven't seen a lot from him and a lot of people probably hoped he would be working his way into the rotation this year. But he's still stuck behind a ton of experience and talent. I'd say there's a chance that he transfers, but my hope is that he sticks around. He may not end up being a star, but he certainly could be an athletic wing who has some shooting ability. That has a place on a Big 12 team; you need role players as much as stars. He's looked pretty good at some points when he's gotten playing time.

Lewis has great size for his skill set, and his shooting stroke seemed to come around late last year and early this year. I really wish we had found some minutes for him, but I get it. I think he could get a lot of minutes next year.

T-Lew is also 6-6. He put on a lot of muscle between Freshman and Sophomore year. If he could do it again, and learn to stay in front of 4's, he would be a hell of a stretch 4. I think most of us find issues with him defending guards, could be an answer?

For now, I will assume everyone is back. I think CSP values length. I don't see him starting both Wigginton and Nixon due to their lack of size. I also think he would prefer to play 4 guards, but I think our talent in the post will make him play two posts next year. Our post players will need to really work on their perimeter defense in the off season.

Tyrese Haliburton
Lindell Wigginton
Talen Horton-Tucker
Michael Jacobson
Cameron Lard

Prentiss Nixon
Solomon Young
George Conditt
Terrence Lewis
Zion Griffin
Marcedus Leech
Tre Jackson
Luke Anderson

I have to think we will go with 2 bigs next year since we'll have a rotation of Jacobson, Lard, Solo & Conditt. The backcourt will have THT, Wiggs & Halliburton returning plus the addition of Prentiss Nixon.

I guess it's possible Prohm will want to stick with 4 guards but it seems to me that putting the best 5 on the court would result in 2 bigs. Hopefully that will improve our rebounding.

I don't think we know yet if Wigginton or THT will be back.

I agree with a previous post our three bigs are not good fits chasing athletic fours. But I wouldn't mind seeing two of them paired together on the back end of a zone for short stints.

I'm hoping we use a variety of players at the 4 giving very different looks. Start THT there but slides to the three often. Allowing Griffin, Conditt and possibly Anderson to change the dynamic.

Haliburton starts at PG.
Nixon and LW on the wings.
THT gets the bulk of the sub minutes for these three much like LW is this year. Leech and Jackson figure in as they progress.

He won’t be a stretch 4, but assuming we’re committed to playing small-ball his fastest path to PT could be by playing the fourth guard role. I don’t know if he has the mindset, but if he continued to physically mature he is one of three guards/wings that have a chance to play alongside a post, ideally next to a rim protector like Lard or Conditt.

I know he gets beat up for his defense, but his perimeter defense in Maui in competitive minutes wasn’t worse than what we’ve seen from most. And the faults looked of the variety that should get better with playing time, like a young Matt Thomas.

Can't wait to watch that lineup try to rebound against Baylor while Lard, Solo, and Conditt waste away on the bench.
It's a starting lineup, not the only 5 that can play during the game. Similar to how the 2nd best player this year comes off the bench.

PG: Halliburton/Nixon
SG: Wigs
SG: Nixon/Halliburton
PF: THT
PF: Lard (If based on skill)
Bench: Jacobson, Young, No idea
Not sure which guy will run point. All need to understand that to make it at the next level, they will need to understand and be capable of playing the PG position.
I would love to see Conditt get in the rotation but he wont unless he can play better than 1 of the 3 posts ahead of him which he might.

LW def needs to return next year as his stock has drooped ...a lot. Mainly due to the injury and missing so much...But I doubt he returns...he will be 22 next season..maybe that doesn’t matter as much but his age is working against him. He will need to decide if he truly wants his name called on draft day then he will return, but if that doesn’t matter anymore he prob goes and will concede giving G league a shot.

Nixon is going to play a lot next year and I’m pretty sure Prohm brought him in with the thought to replace LW. Doesn’t mean can’t start TH, LW and PN with THT and Lard etc..

But we are also actively recruiting another 2019 guard so that tells me something.

Prohm preference it to play 4 guards/wings with 1 Big, I don't see why that would change next year and believe the staff is planning to keep the current style of play.
They specifically have not been targeting a traditional big in recruiting the past year (and that was assuming Young would be graduating up til Dec). The staff is also on record of looking to add a spring guard if one of LW/THT/TH goes pro (to Nixon, Jackson, Leech and Anderson all G/F).

It is important for the staff to adjust to play the best style for the offense and if that means playing 2 bigs then we may see it. Speculation that should be the lineup doen't seem like the Prohm's plan to me and anyone hopeing to see it are likely to be disappointed..

It depends on what happens with Wigginton and THT.

If everyone is back we have to play 2 bigs and 3 guards. It would a total waste of valuable minutes if we have Lard/Solo/Jacobson/Conditt splitting 40 minutes.

Wigginton
Haliburton
THT
Solo/Lard
Jacobson/Conditt

Nixon is the 6th man and plays a role similar to Lindell this year, 25 mpg.
Leech gets 10-15 minutes a game
Lewis transfers at the end of the year
Griffin get 5-10 spot minutes
Jackson/Anderson don't see the floor much after December.

Personally, I would like to see Lewis get more playing time.

I think there are three ways you get yourself drafted in the first round.

(1.) Just be that tippy-top "one and done" guy from the start.

Examples -- Zion Williamson, R.J. Barrett, Cam Reddish

(2.) Have a monstrously productive breakout year as a freshman or sophomore.

Examples -- Jarrett Culver, Ja Morant, De'Andre Hunter

(3.) Have a long and productive career where you might have a limited ceiling compared to some other guys, but you are skilled and we know you can produce.

Examples -- not a lot of them... maybe Aric Holman, Cameron Jordan?

I fear #1 and #2 have passed Wigginton by at this juncture. There comes a point, like it did for Monté, where you realize that raising your profile and developing your skill as an upperclassman, and finishing your degree, might ultimately mean more for you. You are already "old" in the eyes of the NBA, and you only have one shot to play your way onto an NBA roster from the D-League, so you need to be as ready as possible to do so when you do.

I appreciate his goals, but he has no easy path now -- he basically can either start at the bottom and play his way up (with whatever level of skill he has now) or try to come back and dominate, become the talk of college basketball, and parlay that into draft stock.

What would happen if he won B12 POTY as a junior, for instance?

I love the kid, but I think he is a SG stuck in a PG's body.

Young was always going to be here next year. With Young, Lard, Jacobson, and Conditt (plus Anderson) they have not been recruiting a traditional big because we aren’t losing any while we’re potentially losing 3 to 4 of our top guards.
