Dude, arguing with you is ridiculous. In 2010 we beat #22 Texas, 2011 we beat #2 Okie State and #19 Texas Tech, 2012 was #15 TCU. All of those are higher quality wins than ANY OF YOUR FBS WINS and we don't go around gloating like we're the greatest team in the world like you do. Man, you just don't get it.

Yes but when creating his username he forgot the "F" after the "T" to complete the message to our visitors.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of that!

Is it September yet? Please tell me this is the last time we will play this team for oh, say, thirty or forty years. Maybe Lakes will have grown up by then.

Lakes - Are you sure you want to step up to FBS? You might want to understand the NCAA requirements 1st.

Attendance - Average 15000 over all home games in the last rolling 2 years. In order for a ticket to be counted in the attendance, it must be sold for no less than 1/3 of the highest priced ticket. This includes student tickets. If your highest priced game ticket is $30, you better hope the students are paying at least $10 and other tickets are not being discounted.

NDSU may have 22 less scholarships, but don't have 22 less players as they can use partials to get to 85 total players on scholarship. Not only do you get 22 more scholarships, you really get 44 more scholarships(+22 for women's)......next problem....

You currently meet the requirement of 16 D1 sports programs.....unfortunately there is 8 for men and 8 for women. Get ready to drop some men's sports and start adding women's. ISU has 6 men's and 10 women's sports to meet the requirements.

You really want to join the Mountain West? Are you trying to finish off your Athletic Department and make them go bankrupt? Get ready to fly those 10 women's sports teams to the middle of nowhere in the west. That will really make a lot of money for the University.

While I'm a diehard ISU fan, I am concerned the Power 5 sealed the fate of the future of college football. There just isn't enough money for the other FBS conferences to compete, but they still have to live within the FBS requirements. If NDSU joins the little boys in the FBS, I hope you aren't disappointed when you are just a mediocre team in a mediocre conference and the Athletic Department doesn't have the money to build the infrastructure needed.

Ok, I gotta comment off this. I agree 100% with you. We already play women's golf south most of the winter to play tourneys. I dont even want to fathom how much more it would cost to go FBS.

With that said...

In five years, could NDSU be FBS.. Yes. I am like many Bison football fans, that really dont know what the future holds for FCS football. We will never be in a Power 5 conference, because while we think we are big.. truthfully, there is not alot of demand for NDSU football for viewership in a state like Utah and etc. So, our demand in the televison market is not there :(

This whole power 5 conference is going to change all conferences below them. Personally, I see the FCS collapsing in not too long of a time frame. Schools will be forced to either move up to FBS, or down to D-II. This is purelly my speculation. It is going to be very interesting to see what happens in the lower confernces in the next 5 yrs.

Also, I agree with you on another point, that the stadium is not ready for FBS. Unfortunatelly, it is the hand we are dealt. It is highly unlikely that the state is going chip in for a new stadium. I have my doubts on the city of Fargo, wanting a new dome and chipping in.

I gotta say, I am envious of your position of being in Power 5 conference, with that being said.. It's the reason we as Bison fans get excited for games like this. We want to prove we can compete on the field.. once a year with the big guys.

Dat oil money doe...

I am gonna put this as polite as I can.. Our state is one rich B!tch, but it is not interested in spending much in college athletics. Pretty much every research facility at NDSU will be redone before a new stadium is built.

You haven't faced any of the "big guys". The teams you have played are pretty much the bottom feeders that the "big guys" feed on game after game. K-State was not even a "big guy" last year. A decent team that you beat in the first game of the year. Congrats.

You have never beaten ISU. We beat you last time and we were coming off a 2 win season. Expect the results to be the same.

Was this really necessary? They are just as excited to play us as we are when we play the big dogs. This isn't LB that you're responding to.

Hate to tell you, but the entire NCAA will be different in 5 years. All of the teams that have recently jumped to FBS are going to be struggling when the Power 5 conferences can offer full cost of attendance and stipends. The rest of the FBS teams outside the Power 5 will at least have more to offer.

We have succesfully beat teams in the Power 5 confernces. Were they the best teams in those conferences... Heck no. I am not gonna play along here and get into an arguement. That being said.. techniqually, Ball State is a bigger boy than us according to the different levels of college football. Do, I think we are better than them.. yes!

C'mon. Colorado State, Kansas, Minnesota, and even last year's K-State are not "big dogs". They played us 5 years ago and we were coming off a 2 win season. And they were beaten. "Big Dogs"? Spare me. And if they would beat us then they will have just beaten another bottom feeder team. Which UNI and 8 other teams did last year.
