Hiking in RMNP with the family and we all had ISU gear on. Guy stops to chat and talks about what a great school it is, asked when we attended. Then said his son went to ISU about that same time and that he was "on the football team." I asked who it was, ready to rack my brain remembering a 3rd string TE, and he said "Sage Rosenfels."

Sage is one of my coworker's neighbor. He is wedged in between Sage and Erik Crouch.

I worked at Sip's and Paddy's '99-'01, so we would always see football and basketball athletes, and the WBB team liked to party also.

My worst moment (besides always plunging the lady's toilet) was when I was working the front door at Sip's one night and had to escort Cael out the door. He was sober but his buddy was not and had started a fight.

As far as random goes...Walking through Black Engineering one day. Passed by Skoglund. He really is a 7-footer.

Had a similar experience with Kelvin Cato in Durham (at least I am pretty sure it was Cato). We passed each other in a doorway and he definitely filled it up.

Episode I:

It's very late in Ames.

We're rather drunk.

Wise gas station attendant: "You guys can't use the bathroom"

Jamaal Tinsley: "It's cool, they're with me."

We use the bathroom.

We were not actually "with" Jamaal Tinsley or had ever spoken to him.

Episode II:

We're at Paddies or Sips or whatever it was called that month.

We're on the dance floor with two rather attractive blonde coeds.

We spot Jamaal Tinsley.

Jamaal Tinsley is now dancing with two rather attractive blonde coeds. We are no longer on the dance floor.

Episode III:

ISU alums vacationing in Miami.

Jamaal Tinsley is suspended for behavior issues from the Indiana Pacers and has also found his way to the same Miami beach bar scene rather than traveling with the Pacers.

We yell "GO CYCLONES!" and he yells back "MY MAN".

----

Thus ends my Jamaal Tinsley encounters thus far. Overall it's a great trilogy I will always cherish. Probably the bathroom access was the best.

Wow, only on page 2 but this wins, game over.

Backed my car into Clint Varley’s (reserve for ISU basketball in early 2000’s) car in the parking lot of Kum & Go on Welch and he and Jamaal Tinsley got out out and we talked everything through.

I was going to make a Clint Varley joke reference but thought I've ragged on the guy enough.

So many good stories of him being our landlord and getting in trouble for parties/drunken debauchery.

Bumped into Sam Mack and some football player as I was leaving McD's with a carryout one night. At least I think it was him -- had his turtleneck pulled up on his face...

Great stories in here and this is the only one I can think of. I had English 102 with Mallory Snyder (Real World, SI model, former ISU Soccer Player). She was in my group for all of the projects we did. I actually stood in line with her for the Real World auditions as they were held outside of Knapp where our class was, it was too long so I left. She made it.

After one of the Big 12 Championship wins we went to a bar in the power and light district and attempted to order bottle service but all of the VIP booths were full so we had an area around the bar roped off for us until a booth opened up. In walks Georges and Naz and they too get put in this area. Bar security proceeds to come over and ask if we were bothering those two and if we needed to leave to which Georges responded "Nah, they're with me!" That was a helluva night.

I was drinking on Welch with a buddy who got annihilated,we were heading over to Lumpy's and him being in stagger mode ran directly into Seneca coming out of People's.... My buddy being as numb to the world as he was went on to talk Sh!t to him and kept harrassing him about not being able to play football in the rain (ala Oklahoma...).....

Went to Panama for a Study Abroad over Winter Break one year and hung out with
Stephen Ruempolhamer in the Houston airport. He was on his way back from being over in Holland (which I am pretty sure is where he was originally from).

Was in Venice, FL last Thanksgiving with family before heading to Orlando to watch ISU play in their tournament at Disney. See an older, super tan gentleman with sunglasses running shirtless down the beach with his son. I did a double take and yelled out “Hey, Coach Mac. Go Cyclones!” Sure enough, it was Dan McCarney. He yelled out “I’ll come back” and about 10 mins later when he was running back down the beach came and talked to my family and I for a solid 10 mins about ISU. One of the friendliest guys I’ve ever met, he even took some photos with us even though he was drenched in sweat.

Would have been either 1976 or 1977.....walking in downtown Minneapolis, and here comes an enormous black man. He looks really familiar. About 10 feet away it hits me - so I say, "Hi Matt (Blair)!!!" He smiles at me and says "Yeah".

Went to the OU game this year. After the game I was in the campus town area with my Sooner loving brother-in-law. I saw a teenage boy wearing a Seneca was In shirt. I looked at him and said "Yeah ! Seneca was in !!!". Someone put his hand on my shoulder and said "Hell yeah, I was in!! Turned around and it was the man himself.

I was blasting music in my headphones walking to the library, I believe it was dead week. I was going to study for a final so I took an adderall, I was so into my music that I was completely oblivious to every single person leaving the Library. I must have just thought it was that time of the hour where people were filing to their next class. Nope, it was a fire alarm I didn't hear, and I come face to face with Matt at the second pair of doors and he just shook his head and pointed at the fire alarm. I felt like an idiot, and didn't get much studying done either.
