Perfect response from a very smart dude. But it's not like he said he will not be taking calls and listening to what they have to say. So no warm fuzzies, but I wouldn't expect that. But I have no doubt that he's going to give us 100% until he's gone. Hopefully many years from now.
Did he say anything about how he enjoyed dinner and the movie with Jamie and the wives the other night?
Nicely stated...here it is opening day and I know he would have 100% preferred to discuss the first day as opposed to OSU. He handled it just right...

Exactly. It was essentially a non answer. To paraphrase:
"No comment on anything non-Iowa State related."
But as I've stated before: It's too early. Put yourself in Ohio State's shoes. So far Campbell's gone 3-9 & 8-5 at a Power 5 school. Is that really good enough? The Buckeyes will roll with an interim coach for now then begin searching in earnest in November. If Campbell has us in the hunt for a conference championship or a January bowl game, I'd start worrying.
Also- Campbell's true dream job is bringing a Lombardi Trophy to Cleveland. If he can turn Iowa State into a consistent winner, he can make that leap to the NFL without having to go through a blue blood program first.
Campbell has to be a complete alpha male. Everywhere he goes, he wins. He's incredibly composed and articulate. And the guy sticks to his morals and mission and nothing seems to sway him from his path.
Much more than a "no comment." He said lots of nice, quotable things, particularly a reference to the future of our program. Granted, in substance, it may add up to a "no comment," but in form, it had lots of the things that needed to be heard by recruits and fans.
Nothing but class with his comments. I think we"ll only see class from him about this subject here on out.
