Judoka ...

I would agree with nearly everything you said in this post. ISU is certainly a Have Program. Great facility, Very Well taken care of when it comes to gear and clothing, Plus plenty of quality practice partners both in the room and from the CWC. One could say that those are all the resources a young person needs to be successful...

With that said KJ is the missing link. The room is divided and their is not a balance from the top. As a wrestler you are either a have or a have not - PERIOD! If you are not one of KJ's boys it does not matter what you do you will not get the same treatment and you certainly will never get a shot.

Thank goodness for the assistant coaches in that room because they are the glue that keeps the room in tact. KJ is not the guy to get us to a TOP 10 school and I feel like that is just fine by Jamie Pollard. His love is Track and Field... END OF STORY!

Look, I don't think Jackson is a perfect coach. I've even got some fairly big issues with a few of the things he emphasizes and our performance in certain areas. But I don't expect everybody on the team to be best buds, and in any competitive environment there are going to be people who feel they're getting the short end of the stick. Maybe they are, I dunno, I'm not in the room. But the comments from departed graduates and coaches don't match what you're posting.

Like I posted earlier, you got mad last season when Beard lost his spot to Weatherspoon. But as an outsider looking in, it sure looked like Beard got every chance to keep the spot. Woiver got a tryout at 157 because Goettl wasn't getting it done. Again, as an outsider, that didn't look like anybody was getting screwed. Heck, Smith is clearly one of Jackson's "guys" but Scanlon is brought along to every tournament where we can bring extra guys and he never outperforms Smith in the bracket. Sure looks like guys are getting shots.

Not you Judoka, It was mostly this exchange between InTheKnow (intheno) and CG.

"your a bum and NO one wants to hear your option. "If your not for us, your against is" quote Kevin Jackson....your against is so quit acting like your for us.

I can tell you are a wealth of wrestling knowledge. If you think that I have an agenda your nuts. You assume my family is unhappy? Sometimes the truth hurts.... there is nothing in any of my posts that are not facts.*

Besides if you think that KJ will change his ways because anyone may or may not like his style - your nuts.*"

Okay here is #TimeforChange you post exactly who you are real name and all... you are infecting everyone that reads these boards with a cancer in thinking Iowa state wrestling is done for.

We get it you don't like KJ.

We all want to see Iowa State on top. We all want our guys to be successful. We all have said what we believe needs changed and have all had civil conversations about it. Heck Judoka, Buff and a few others including myself have different ideas yet we still are great to each other and 99.9% of the time bring good stuff to the board....you however do not. You bring this anti-KJ nazi type of stuff that is really old.

Jesus start a blog or twitter or something and post on there...hell make an anti KJ website for all i care, but until you answer who you really are you are a disease to this board and a disease to all iowa state fans. And that is a disease no one in Cyclonenation wrestling needs right now.

I can't get too upset about this past weekend. No Moreno or Spoon and something was clearly up with Gadsen.

I've been a vocal anti-KJ guy in the past but by and large I've decided it does no good to spend a lot of energy on it until after NCAAs this year. Anything short of top 10 and there should be no extension. Even an 8-10 finish makes it questionable as our two best guys are moving on and there doesn't seem to be a ton of talent behind them.

Also, thank goodness someone stepped up and recognizes that ISU wrestling is very well supported overall. Some of the pro-KJ crowd has poisoned the more casual fan to believe we have a Sisters of the Poor level of program support which is very far from the truth.

When is KJ's current contract up?

Who is the pro KJ crowd? Name a single poster that has been the big pro KJ fan, plus provide any reference to posters that have stated anything close to sisters of the poor.

He considers anybody who hasn't actively been calling for Jackson's head since 2010 to be the "big pro-KJ crowd" and anybody who doesn't think that any coach other than Jackson could just waltz in and turn us into a top 3 team next season to think that we're the sisters of the poor.

Cytopia & NEICyfan may or may not be alts of the same guy, but they are basically the same poster just beating the Queso drum. I've got them both on ignore so don't reply to them very often since I only see their posts if they are quoted but they aren't at all interested in anything but bashing the wrestlers and bashing the coaches.

I'm still a supporter of KJ but wonder if his contract will be renewed. I just don't know who could come and get us back to being a top 5 contender every year. I like KJ and I'm somewhat ok with where we are as a squad but the length of time it took to get here and with us still not being considered a threat has me a little concerned.

Well if you want a pro KJ guy there is a fine example just two posts below yours. Many, many other posters have been solidly in his corner.

As for the facilities and support, if you don't think they have been spun as substandard many times you haven't been reading. Judoka went as far as to put me on ignore after I called his bluff on the claim that UNI is a better supported program than ISU. He couldn't handle it.

KJ's biggest downfalls have been lack of recruiting and mat skills. I mean no offense to the guys in the room as there are some pretty talented wrestlers in there, we have to have more depth though if we want to be a top 3 or 4 team. He has turned the corner with neutral wrestling and being aggressive on our feet. I am hoping the scuffle was an aberration as this season has been much improved over the last few. I think it is premature to give him a contract extension and I feel it is premature to talk about firing him. The pool for very highly talented coaches is pretty shallow in the wrestling world.

Gotcha, misread since there was no quote and it was right after I posted with a "you're".
I knew exactly what he was talking about. I am the farthest thing from a grammer cop, in fact they annoy the heck out of me as this is a message board and who cares. BUT the fact they both incorrectly spelled that word so many times in their exchange I about made the same comment. I think your usage of "you're" was the first time in this thread it was correctly spelled.

I support KJ and staff and believe with the newly renovated wrestling room and locker room we have everything necessary to win at Iowa state

I also support KJ and staff, and think we now have everything we need to win here at Iowa State. I hope we can make a run at NCAA's this year and I think we are set to make one better than we have been since Varner and Zabriskie were seniors.

With that said, I would be also supportive of making a change at Head Coach. I don't think Kj will get us to the top, and he's now had plenty of time to establish himself. I don't think he is a bad coach and we could certainly do worse, but I think there are lots of coaches out there that could equal his level of success with the support and resources that ISU wrestling has. There are a few people out there, I think, that could help us return into the top tier again. I'd be excited about the idea of one of the Paulson twins taking over, I think they are the biggest asset we have as a program right now.

Regardless, I hope to be at all of the home meets this year and will continue to support whoever we have as head coach. The wrestling program has always been and still is a bright spot for this university.
