If it wasn't for Murph and Andy we probably would have nothing but national sports talk on KXNO right now. I still worry that now that they are gone that it will open the door for some cuts again. Not that the Morning Rush or The Drive are quality shows but having no local sports talk radio in the market would be a bad thing. I get that their are still podcasts out there to get some of that content to but having a live show with caller interaction and in the moment reaction is something you don't get with pre-recorded podcasts.

Everybody can stream in the car now. Local radio is podcasting now. The best shows are better than Kxno ever was and if you want to deep dive it’s like 60 hrs a week.

On The Drive on Friday, Sean Roberts hinted that they are very excited about the replacement for the M&A time slot. I am trying to imagine who/what it could be ...

That said, I thought he and Justin Miller were good together on air Friday night. (Miller was filling in for Heather)

If he's excited then I'm very afraid.

Could be Emery Songer. I’d hope they make Lucas a full timer, he’s produced 5 hours each day for almost a year

I think most people would be shocked at the pay…especially for someone not established at all.

Most successful radio people in markets like Des Moines have other primary jobs and do this as a side gig because you can’t live on the radio pay.

That's the case for a lot of Podcasts, and quite a few of those even have listeners call in during the live show. I, personally, almost never listen to them live but I do enjoy hearing the callers give their two cents during the recorded podcast.

If a show has callers, I don't listen. If I want to hear from idiots, I go to the bar (and I do).

Travis lives in Omaha. Doesn't stop him from doing the show remote.

Valid. I don't know what Emery's schedule is like in Omaha currently. I think he does the morning show. So, conceivably, he could do an afternoon slot remote.

Condon is suppose to be on the air right now from Vegas and Miller and other KXNO folks don't know where he is. Hasn't answered his phone or texts this morning. Ken said he was letting loose last night but haven't heard from him since then.
Probably got piss drunk and passed out in an alley.

Isn't Condon in his early 40's? I know it is Vegas but too hungover to get to work is embarrassing.
