Mediacom could never figure out how to get our internet to work after two weeks of various inept service people tying us to our house for hours at a time. Have Windstream for that and bundled with our Dish. Switched to Dish when Mediacom cable kept going out for our entire neighborhood and the "service" person told my neighbor and I we were lying in our own homes and called us foul names. Needless to say, I would have no TV before I would go back to Mediacom.

Just signed up for mediacom today. (the guy is currently 1 1/2 hours late to install) Signed up because I dont want a dish on my house and their internet is faster and cheaper. Also will be nice to get both the Omaha and Des Moines local channels for sports reasons. Cyclone Tv wasnt really a factor. I attend most of the home games in all sports and I could care less about wrestling/volleyball/gymnastics.

So far in the 7-8 calls ive made to mediacom, they are easy to deal with/polite/speak english

Careful, you could spawn a whole new thread.

Dish sucks for sports compared to DirectTV. Even with all its problems, if I lived in Iowa, I'd be on Mediacom as a Cyclone fan. Don't know why fans continue to go out of their way to bash them since they are helping our program.

Outside of Sunday ticket, what does DTV have that Dish doesn't? The only thing that I missed for ISU was when they were on FCS, which I'm still not convinced actually exists since no one gets it. I love the Dish sports as you can get all of the Fox Sports channels.

Note: I reserve the right to change my mind on this if Dish drags their feet on FS1 for the football season.

Why would anyone chose mediacom for cyclone TV? I could understand if there were a b12 modled after the b10 network, at least there you gen enough quality programming and school exposure to make a difference. But I ain't getting mediacom to watch replays of a bunch of girls swim meets.

I would strongly consider switching from DTV - Mediacom. I just don't care for how MC lowers the HD signal to accommodate bandwidth.

I am switching to DirectTV and CenturyLink. Just had CenturyLink installed yesterday and so far so good. We'll see how I like DTV after it is installed this weekend...

Where I live, Dish is basically worthless if you want to watch Iowa State, or major college athletics for that matter. My in-laws have it and there are tons of sports channels not on it.

Plus, it never works during storms.

I hate Mediacom, but I just can't see what I'd gain by switching. I've looked into it many times and always come to the same conclusion. Once someone goes a la carte, they've got my ear.
