I'm only a few days in but man it's great so far. Picture quality is better, and the DVR system (hopper and joeys) is just plain awesome. As a bonus I no longer have to deal with the scum at mediacom. For the life of me I can't understand why anyone with options would be a mediacom customer. I can't wait for football season.

I just made the switch this week. It's great. The only thing I am going to miss is the Mediacom channel do to ISU athletics.

Dish sucks for sports compared to DirectTV. Even with all its problems, if I lived in Iowa, I'd be on Mediacom as a Cyclone fan. Don't know why fans continue to go out of their way to bash them since they are helping our program.

I pay like 70 per month for mid level hd package with 2 joeys.

I live in Iowa and didnt give a second thought to not having cyclone tv. I dont see much value in their on air programming at all.

It's not really going out of your way when you try to support them, but get terrible service and quality.

It's the Cyclone basketball games that keep me on Mediacom. I am assuming with the new TV contracts, they won't be broadcasting football anymore. I've never really had issues with Mediacom service or quality, except the awful basketball game broadcasts. But if they go HD, it should be much better this year. Price is my biggest complaint.

So... Do you like working for Mediacom?

Good point. Applebees is a sponsor, too, and I don't feel like I should eat there.

I actually have mediacom...I've not experienced many problems with them. I do like the perks of some of the bball games that are on there. When my contract is up I may consider dish or whatever, but now I'm ok and I get my internet through mediacom too.

Real Tivo alone is enough to keep me on Mediacom. Cyclones TV. Gotta have the cable modem anyway for speed.

I have to make this decision soon; I don't know what I would do for internet if I don't go Mediacom.

I just switched from Dish to Mediacom.. Not one complaint about Mediacom. Obviously not having the hopper/joey is stinks but I'm only paying $75 for cable/internet where as with Dish I was paying $90 just for cable alone!! Doesn't make sense to me to keep Dish especially since Mediacom will be having the Cyclone channel now..

If anyone does plan on switching to Dish, find a friend who has Dish, and get them to refer you. It saves both of you money.
