Doesn't the Club also include volley ball, and the other sports that don't get talked about as much?

I could see that being a great way to get to all of the volleyball games.

I never understood why the AD does this for football. If the parents have hillsides then great. But many if not most parents have reserved seats and the kids are going to sit on their lap anyway. Why not make the age limit for not needing a ticket something like 4 and then make the parents get them a seat next to them after that? I know the intent is to try and encourage young families, but having the family with a 10 year old try to fit into two reserved seats squeezes everyone around them.

That's why the seat cushions are a great purchase.

I'm sure they want to make bringing kids as economical as possible for as long as possible. The last thing the AD wants to do is force people to start doing the math on how much it will cost to add a true seat for a 4year old that will barely watch the game. I'll bet there are a lot of people who have held onto season tickets that would have just stayed home if they had to pay full price for every kid.

There may be MBB games the AD opens to JCC members, but they'll be the early non-conference games or ones over breaks when students are gone. There was a different ticketing procedure for those games last year; you couldn't just show the kids' lanyards.

We figure $50 for FB, WBB, possibly some MBB and all Olympic sports is an awesome deal and try to take our kids to as many different sporting events as possible. The more we expose them to all sports, the deeper their fanaticism will become, and the more likely they'll be Cyclones for life.

Holy crap, your post just reminded me that we ordered seat cushions this year! Hooray for us!
I wasn't sure I'd like them when we first got them a few years ago but having a defined seat is nice when people in your row try to cram 8 people into 5 seats.

Ugh, for real. If you haven't purchased a seat for your kid, they'd better not take one up.

We also carry in an old quilt/blanket on which to sit.

awesome, 5,500 little bastards running around throwing footballs at people while their parents pay no attention to them. Cant wait!!!

Not this season. There won't be room for laying out a quilt or throwing around a football except for maybe the Kansas game.

Which of course will lead to people complaining that they can't treat the hillsides like a family picnic anymore. Which is a legitimate loss for the people who did that. But that was a bonus because of low attendance, not part of what you automatically get from getting hillside seats.

Agreed, I have no issue when there is plenty of room but if your kids are having a 7on7 football game, tell them to move to the west or east side of the stadium. Its like walking through a war zone trying to get to the bathrooms in the SEZ.

im going to get there early and put up a rope fence around my blanket. Take that overcrowding bastards! :jimlad:

i figure there won't (hopefully) be all 5,500 JCC members at every game. We were able to sit fairly comfortably on a blanket for the 2011 Iowa game, and those hillsides were pretty full.

Bad morning. Started this morning at 7AM trying to log onto Cyclone Club Account and buy 3-JR club memberships. Could not log in. Reset password. Still would not let me in. Called support number. Was told they were having trouble. They transferred me to the ticket office so I could do everything over the phone. By the time I waited and got through I was told they were sold out. I'm disappointed, but hey its a great problem having the demand for all ticket packages! Glad they sold out, just wish I got the last 3!

i know this was already answered, but yes. You get into volleyball, gymnastics and wrestling. (And soccer and softball, can't remember if those have admission fees or not). You can't sit in the reserved/season ticket holder section (unless they are sitting on your lap) but still very economical for families. A certain level Cyclone Club donation also gets you into Olympic sports for free. Combine that with JCC membership and you get to watch NCAA tourney caliber teams for free. Best deal in college sports!

If your kids are in the JCC you also get a chance to sign up to be kids' captains at certain sports. My oldest was chosen for WBB one time--they get to meet the team/coaches, watch pre-game practice, and get recognized during the game. She also got to be the kids' captain at softball this May, which she loved because she hopes to play softball (or volleyball) for the Cyclones in a few years.

i also have to say that she made out like a bandit at the athletic equipment sale. She was decked out today in Nike I State shorts and a dri fit softball tee my husband bought for her for like $5 each. She scored 2 other pr of Nike shorts, a softball jacket, and an old volleyball jersey (hubby couldn't remember her favorite player's number--Kristin Hahn #6. He guessed #4 instead) She also had on her Cyclone titanium necklace (last year's JCC registration giveaway) and her bracelet from this year.

Didn't they make a change with regard to non-conference BB games. Previously, I thought you could bring the kids to those games. Last season, there was plenty of space to have a Jr. Cyclone Club section for non-conf games. I think they should bring this back as a way to help introduce kids to Hilton Magic.

Are Jr. Cyclone Club members counted in the "record attendance?" It seems that they only count "tickets sold." So, while we say our record attendance is 56,800, is it really a few thousand more?
