Rhule is an idiot. He's perfect for Nebraska.
If you look at his last few coaching stops and lack of success..... I get that "Aaron Rodgers" vibe of coaching.
Even in his good year at Baylor, he didn’t beat a ranked team. Paper tiger.

If Rocco throws for 5,000 yards and 40 TD’s, along with 14 or 15 wins, sure, that could be a good time to go early.Unless this coming season ends in a Big 12 Conference championship & football playoff appearance, so Rocco thinks it's time for the next level. Yes, a man can dream
If that happens, hell yeah! But let's be realistic, he has a lot of room for improvement to be even a third day pick. Not a knock by any means.Unless this coming season ends in a Big 12 Conference championship & football playoff appearance, so Rocco thinks it's time for the next level. Yes, a man can dream
Moberly needs to work on his accuracy. He didn't throw many passes last year, but he was throwing way too high when he did get the opportunity. But the coaches surely noticed that and have been working with him on fixing it. I love his acceleration when he runs though. Dude hits top speed in no time.Moberly looks pretty good.
Rodgers at least USED to be good.Rhule is an idiot. He's perfect for Nebraska.

You’re not wrong. But it’s kind of how talent eval always goes when you’re going from one level to the next. Do they have the tape? Skills? Leadership? Intangibles?Good pickup I guess. I find it hard to get excited about ANY high school commit this day and age. Have any of them stayed for more than a year or 2 besides Purdy and Rocco? J.J. Kohl was so awesome he's now at App St.
Who is Matt Tool? Is he like that Matt Fool guy?Not sure what article/news you are reading. Matt Tool thinks that he can go get higher caliber talent elsewhere, and use the in-state kids as a fallback. The in-state kids, who have actual talent, are finding homes before Tool comes back to them. The reason Nebby hasnt offered is because by the time NU is in on the in-state kid (which happens to be the 3rd or 4th option) they are already signed to a team
Well stated, and I say Bust coming also, for Rhule and kNeb. He should think like this, what you said, luckily doesn't. He could establish a wining tradition and culture first. Might have to r/o culture though if none to start with? Sad for them.Context is important.
It's true Nebraska hasn't offered any of these kids, BUT long term it's gonna hurt Nebraska in some way.
Nebraska has a young roster, and is experiencing a roster crunch from the transition to Rhule. He would have offered several of them by now otherwise, but he's still trying to get his feet underneath him to meet the win yesterday expectations of the "11 wins and compete for the natty or bust" crowd.
Emphasis on the BUST portion of that. Even Husker fans admit having 3 star local kids developing while threatening the 2 deep is preferable to 80 mercenaries. The instate kids are much more likely to stick around when things get hairy or you give those highly paid national targets the grace w/ playing time they require, along with the monster NIL deals. There's gonna be constant renegotiations and recruiting over players on their roster, whether they are 4 deep with "better" out of state players or not!
Much better to have these guys in Ames, with legimate paths to starting and being treated like prioritized potential starters and future pros. This will have some downstream negative effects on the bigger picture health for Nebraska. The chances that Rhule actually meets their fan/booster delusional expectations is objectively very small IMO. Hence why Rhule mentions competing with Ohio State. That's the definition of a tall order.
If they wanna go all-in on a blueblood arms race after being increasingly irrelevant and marganized for decades, I think it's almost certainly gonna blow up in Nebby's face dramatically. Would be smarter to hedge your bets a bit and try to build a sustainable foundation by using that Husker homer mindset to your advantage and stash the majority of your top 10 recruits every year just in case.
Can you imagine how much worse our morale would have been if our LB 2-deep was making SEC money last year? They barely even stayed on the field. They might have even transferred out, and the pressure to recruit over them wasting even more money at a place like nebraska would be immense.Well stated, and I say Bust coming also, for Rhule and kNeb. Rhule, could he just be the next kNeb coach, only richer, who fails?
I think that you’re right. And a few may well flip. But, the longer the huskers hold off on offering the harder it is going to be to flip them.I don’t think people realize most of these guys will have a Nebraska offer by signing day.
If teams fully using hindsight could go back & draft Purdy, you think he'd have a chance going on day 2? I sure do.If that happens, hell yeah! But let's be realistic, he has a lot of room for improvement to be even a third day pick. Not a knock by any means.
No arguments there. Only doubt is teams thinking in hindsight. If teams fully using hindsight could go back & draft Purdy, you think he'd have a chance going on day 2? I sure do.
I also think Rocco could better Brock's tenure at ISU, and given how Purdy has helped strengthened how ISU players are perceived in the league, I feel he will be a much higher draft pick given his talents & intangibles. Not thinking Round 1 occurs, but I believe Round 2 may be his ceiling. Will depend on his growth in experience & game-wise.
I think Purdy is a first rounder if drafted today. Maybe not at the top of the draft but still a 1st. Rocco IMO has a similar skill set. Maybe a stronger arm, not as good of a runner, not quite as accurate. He’s going to need to cut down on the picks and also prove he can do it without 2 elite WRs. If he can do that, he’ll definitely get drafted. If teams fully using hindsight could go back & draft Purdy, you think he'd have a chance going on day 2? I sure do.

I mean he’s played like a first rounder. The doubts that caused him to drop look dumb now. What do you mean Purdy would be a first rounder if drafted today?
Regardless, we are going to be up against this kind of rhetoric when we recruit against B10 and sec schools for the foreseeable future.Matt Rhule has zero ranked wins in his time at Baylor and Nebraska combined.
Think about that. Not a single one lol.
