This is exactly why Rhule is trying to pretend like Nebby doesn't need the in state kids. Dude is a complete clown. Gonna be hilarious when An SEC school backs up a Brinks truck to Dylan Raiola's house and Nebby loses their golden boy.
I'm not sure Raiola is the savior Nebraska thinks he is. Stats from this season:

TD= 13
INT = 11
Complete % = 67.1%
Passing Yds = 2,819 (6.9 yds/complettion)
Rushing Yds = (-)65 yards

Rocco Becht Freshman season:

TD= 23
INT = 8
Complete % = 62.9%
Passing Yds = 3,120 (8.5yds/complettion)
Rushing Yds = 63 yards

I don't get the hype.

Ferentz tried to bad mouth CMC/Iowa State like 6 years ago on this same topic. The whole "our offer means more" approach by old Kirk hasn't worked out real well.
If I remember right, Iowa tried to claim that they only give out offers if they are ready to accept a commitment from the player. Making fun of Iowa State for handing out so many offers, basically claiming that we offer everyone, but they aren't "committable" offers. At the time Iowa still had like 75-80 offers out to players, and only 20-25 openings. So, it made no sense to anyone that can do 1st grade level math.

Raiola comes off as a guy that didn't have to work that hard in high school and was just better than everyone. Is he willing to do the work to become what he is capable of being or is he going to just try and be Patrick Mahomes with no success at all. This year should tell us all we need to know.

Rhule implying that top 20 programs aren't offering sophomores is certainly a take... I thought he was going to turn the program around but he clearly doesn't get it.
Rhule makes it seem like these high school kids should wait until senior year to commit because he might offer them after he whiffed on his 4-5 star recruits.

No doubt he'll offer some of our commits eventually. Hopefully they tell him to F-off.

Doubtful he’s thinking of Leaders. He was an ISU legacy, and his brother, Andy, was already on the team. Although he was a very good player (1st Team All Big 12 as a senior) he was also not his listed 6’2” and deemed too short in terms of recruiting accolades. Him and Curvey made for a couple slippery interior defensive linemen

DMac’s most highly ranked Nebraska kids were Billups and Hicks.
Forgot about Billups. Big time RB commit and turned into a helluva safety.

Still weird to me that Kirk basically fired his own son. I get that boosters and probably the AD told him he needed to find a new OC, but a normal person would go "F*** You. You want him gone? Then I'm gone too" and ride off into the sunset. He basically let Brian go so that he could keep coaching for what, another 2-3 years? I can't imagine wanting to stay there after the administration, boosters and basically the entire fan base turned on my son and forced him to leave.

He knew as well as anyone if he wanted to keep coaching his idiot son had to go. It was a blessing for him that the AD had to do it so Kirk didn't have to do it.

Rhule is a really weird guy, could be now that everyone can pay money he isn’t as effective. He better win the next two years or he’s done there. His personality is fine if you are winning, wears out pretty quick if you losing.

They play Cincinnati game 1, just gave them billboard material for no reason.

That's what I'm saying. He was willing to let his son walk away just so he could keep coaching a few more years. That's messed up. Stand by your son, retire, and tell the AD to go f*** themselves.

Brian was basically running the system Kirk wanted him to. Kirk's just as much to blame for their offensive problems as anyone, and he let his son take all the heat for it.

I can see why such logic made sense to Iowa fans!

It wasn't just about running the system. Brian would only take his foot out of his mouth long enough to change feet.

Since Rhule insinuates that the Big 10 is closer to the NFL than the Big 12, let’s see what Rhules combined record is in the Big 10 and the NFL: 17-39. He has had five consecutive losing seasons in conference and NFL. His replacement at Carolina had a .500 record with the same players that Rhule only had a .200 record. Maybe this is his breakout season. History is against him however.
