I'm not sure Raiola is the savior Nebraska thinks he is. Stats from this season:

TD= 13
INT = 11
Complete % = 67.1%
Passing Yds = 2,819 (6.9 yds/complettion)
Rushing Yds = (-)65 yards

Rocco Becht Freshman season:

TD= 23
INT = 8
Complete % = 62.9%
Passing Yds = 3,120 (8.5yds/complettion)
Rushing Yds = 63 yards

I don't get the hype.
Raiola's little brother is committed to Nebraska. Class of 2026 QB with a mid 3 star rating.

It wasn't just about running the system. Brian would only take his foot out of his mouth long enough to change feet.
I admit, I find it amusing that Iowa bashing has crept into the Rhule-breaking on this thread…and as yet, no one has gloated over Jett choosing the good guys over Iowa.

I admit, I cringed a bit when I put that UI was one of his offers in the OP, expecting that to blow up.

Or, did I just miss it? :grin:

Rhule makes it seem like these high school kids should wait until senior year to commit because he might offer them after he whiffed on his 4-5 star recruits.
He is such a tool. I can’t stand Nebraska fans. They remind me of that super hot girl in high school that everybody wanted to date and was really popular. You lose contact with her and you go back to your 25 year high school reunion, and she’s aged a ton but still dressing like she did when she was 18 and still shopping at the Buckle in her late 40’s. All she can talk about is high school 25 years ago and she still thinks she’s pretty hot. That’s all Nebraska fans bring up if you argue with them how they owned us in the 80s and 90s.

That's what I'm saying. He was willing to let his son walk away just so he could keep coaching a few more years. That's messed up. Stand by your son, retire, and tell the AD to go f*** themselves.

Brian was basically running the system Kirk wanted him to. Kirk's just as much to blame for their offensive problems as anyone, and he let his son take all the heat for it.
Yeah **** $7 million/yr, this is my son!

Hopefully Jett is like Purdy and tells Bama no.

Too bad we've had a guy in the same situation before that can talk to him. Time for Campbell to call in a little favor.

As I said in the ‘26 Recruiting thread, Alabama signed the #2 overall player in the ‘25 Class in QB Keelon Russell. Their touted QB’s from the previous two classes Portaled out.

Exactly as they were trying to do with Brock, they’re trying to find a placeholder backup QB for the ‘26 class, until they can over recruit him by signing another gaudy QB prospect in the ‘27 class.

No one else at QB in this class wants to follow Russell, including instate Alabama kids.

I expect Jett should be smart enough to figure that out. Brock did. I’m sure he’d be happy to help.

I'm afraid the difference is that Bama can offer him much more money than us. On the other hand, if your goal is to be an NFL QB, college playing time > NIL money.

Im sure they will offer more. However, I’m 100% certain that Brock keeps the door open for us with kids and situations like this.
