If Wes redshirts, I'd expect to see Garrett and Petersen both starting.

-Cory Johnson certainly lived up to my low expectations from him...I'm not sure why this kid ever gets on the floor.

I agree with most of what you say, but can't let this one go. Cory Johnson played just 5 minutes last night. In that very short time, he went 1-1 on FGs and 2-2 on free throws. He had 4 points and one rebound in only 5 minutes. If you look at Cory's statistics, he is probably the most efficient basketball player we've had over the last 2 years. IMO, Cory should be seeing more court time, certainly not less. The TV announcer even said something about how good Cory was while he was in there last night. What you said is simply wrong.

Cory in 2007-08: Shooting 58.3% FG, averaging 2.7 points and 0.8 rebounds in only 7.5 minutes/game.

Cory in 2006-07: Shot 53.2% FG; averaged 4.2 points and 2.0 rebounds in only 11.4 minutes/game.

Count me in on the Cory bandwagon. His shot looks really good but seems to somehow find a way to rim out most times. I like seeing him out on the floor but it's always hard to match him up with someone because of his "in between" size.

It wasn't the prettiest thing in the world, but it was a streak ender and it was a Pac-10 team on the road and we pulled it off. Good work McD and the Clones! That one was for Lucca, but no time to savor it...time to beat Dr. Tom and Drake back in Des Moines!!!

Dr. Tom doesn't coach Drake Bulldogs anymore

For those in attendence last night, what was the facility like? On tv it looked like a big, old style high school fieldhouse.

It is a old style fieldhouse ... if they could get about 10-12k in it it could get really loud in there because the ceiling is real low and the walls at the ends are very close to the court. In a lot of ways reminds me of Williams Arena in Mpls, but smaller.

I didn't see the big drought as we had in our last 3 games. I think any win on the road at this point is BIG...back in the Wayne Morgan era we couldn't win a road game if our life depended on it.

ARRGGHHH!.....I'm not trying to hijack this thread and turn it into a defense of Wayne, but you should really do your homework before you post flat-out falsehoods. You don't remember road wins against Nebraska, Missouri, Colorado, Texas, and especially #2 Kansas?

You are certainly entitled to your own opinion on Wayne Morgan's coaching, but you are NOT entitled to your own version of the facts.

I'm watching the replay right now, as I wasn't able to pay really close attention last night. It looks like Petersen is doing a much better job of getting the ball to the post. Jiri wasn't doing a very good job of finishing.

BP was slightly better last night, but chalk it up to the level of the competition, not a sudden ability for him to be a D1 PG.

Just pointing out he's looked a lot more comfortable in this game.

Guys.... just to correct eveyone. That losing streak started with Saint Larry Eustachy at the helm and ended with the Devil's Wayne Morgan team.

Just wanted the facts and nothing but the facts out there.

You mean we had troubles on the road under Larry? Didn't the booze and co-ed issue that became public come on the road?

Coincidence?

*sits back, watches the sparks fly*

I like the idea of both Petersen(SG) and Garrett(PG) starting games if Wesley red shirts this year. In my opinion, Petersen has a beautiful shot but he almost looks afraid? to shoot sometimes. Garrett is definitely faster and looks smoother. Gets a little shaky taking it to the rack but that can be fixed. I'll give both credit though, they both play their butts off every minute they're on the floor.

Yeah we may have beat them, but we also lost to less than sub-par teams, those are the ones that grind on us. Yes we remember the BIG wins, but we always remember the losses we should've won.

I thought it looked like a dump on TV-only a small bleacher section behind the basket, and it looked really old

I am also personally a fan of Diante at the PG position, with Petersen spelling him. Hopefully Wes can recover, because with Petersen at the 2 guard spot, he would likely be a weak spot on the defensive end of the court at only 6'1". However, he does seem to have a nice shot, and rebounds well for a small guy. So I'm a little torn on the issue. Hopefully Wes can just recover and play the 2 spot.
