Man, some of you are such downers. Yes, it may be inconvenient for you (and it is for me too) but quit your belly-aching. It is good for the program. Beat Texas on ESPN and get some positive publicity early in the season.

So when I donate to the program im not allowed to voice my opinion?

Looks like I'll need to try and sell my ticket. I have a meeting that day after work until 6:30. Doubt my boss would want me tailgating before my meeting.

You have a meeting scheduled 6 months in advance? Good lord...must be an important one.

Sure. Go ahead. Saying it is inconvenient is one thing. Saying it is dumb because it is inconvenient is another. "Playing a spotlight game in ESPN?? No thanks because it is on a Thursday. Would rather play on a Saturday and be stuck on some minor Fox channel that no one gets or have it streamed over the Internet."

Same thing when the Mediacom Channel was announced. People complaining because it wasn't a national channel. Come on, people. You've got to walk before you run. It's one thing to be disappointed, it's another to be a crybaby (not you personally).

There's my negative rant about the negative rants of others. Que to Val Kilmer... My hypocrisy knows no bounds!!

I love it.

But from the looks of it I am one of few people on this board that gets PTO/Vacation from their employer.

I haven't been complaining about it, but it is a school night during the school year. For those of us who can't just drive down and drive right back it is a hard sell to pull young kids out of school for a day to go to a game.

I still think the AD needs to do what is best for the AD even if it means I miss a game.

I'm okay with this. We have a Thursday night game the week before, so will have a full game week to prepare.

We go the full conference slate without a bye week. So this at least gives us a mini bye after the first game.

Seems like this is often the case...:skeptical:

One thing i wish is that ISU would open up the lots for these weekday games at the normal 7am. Not being able to start tailgating until noon is weak.

Hopefully the team doesn't embarrass themselves on national tv. Pretty brutal to watch us play Texas the last couple years.

I don't have PTO or Vacation from my employer. Since I'm salary, and head of my department, I can come and go as I please so long as my job is getting done, and getting done well.

It makes it really hard to be gone more than 5 days in a row and take a real vacation, but incredibly easy to bug out for a long weekend, which is really nice come football season.

Thanks for putting words into my mouth. No where do I recall saying it was dumb, so thanks for making that accusation.

I think staffing is a concern since most of the people they have have other jobs and/or classes.

Except they often have the people out there at the gates blocking you from tailgating in the donor lots. There arent a ton of staff other than them.

I like the Thursday night games. ISU football and all the emotional strain involved doesn't interfere with a solid day of watching college football on a Saturday....and its a good way to drop some PTO and get out of work for awhile.

Omaha to Ames on Saturday mornings are brutal.
