Is the secret scrimmage this weekend?

I'm hoping for NCAA this year as well, but I think NIT is more realistic.

As solid as Ejim and Niang will be, we don't have much depth in the big men. Also, we've got inexperienced guards and I don't think Matt Thomas will be as good as everyone else believes. I think he'll struggle to get open unless Fred changes his offense around and sets multiple screens for him. I remember some people comparing him to Hoiberg himself as a high schooler earlier this year, which was just ridiculous considering how athletic Hoiberg was and Thomas didn't seem to have any of that in the video highlights I watched.

Still, I think the NCAA Tournament is possible, and would love to eat my words come March, but the NIT (or worse) seems more likely to me at this point.

I'm sure you know what you're talking about from watching highlight videos of him. You don't get ranked a top 60 recruit if your coach has to change his offense just so you can get a shot off.

Onalaska's Matt Thomas, a freshman at Iowa State, had 19 points on 10 shots in intra-squad scrimmage Wednesday. Going to be really good.

Are people in this thread seriously worried that we lost the secret scrimmage?

I have no idea if we'll be good, but seriously, the results of yesterday have NOTHING to do with it.

Yes, I think some are. Mind blowing, actually.

I'll eat my shoe if KSU finishes ahead of us. They are going to suck this year. And the league sucking will be a reason why we don't make it, rather than do make it. It's not like they have to take a certain amount of teams from the Big XII.

Based on what? Yeah they lost Angel to transfer and McGrudder at seasons end but still return 3 starters and 2 others that saw significant time last year. I am betting they wont be as bad as many seem to think.

19 on 10 shots? I was hoping for 30.

so they lost their two best offensive players on a team that really struggled to score last year. They played good defense, but with the new rules - its all about putting the ball in the basket.

KU, OSU and ISU will be the teams that excel with the new rules. Baylor is Baylor - not sure what Scott Drew will do next.

We don't recruit quality players. 19 is the best we can hope for.

Fred just brought in his best HS recruit since he's been here that fits perfect in our system. Unless he completely revamps our offense, 19 is going to be his ceiling in a Cyclone jersey.

Call a timeout to think about his options... then call another timeout less than a minute later when he realizes he forgot to take his socks out of the dryer.

Dude this was from 2008. I think this years team has the potential of being better than last years team..
It took awhile for someone to catch on. Ha-ha. Much better having the Dreamy sitting in that seat.
