Tayvonne Kyle has been a solid tackler late in the season. He needs to improve in coverage though. Our secondary can't (or won't) tackle.
Gain the edge off-tackle, and you are home free.
I'll let the football gurus talk about our strengths and weaknesses because I'm not really a football guy but I just want to say that your TE might be good but he isn't Charlie Kolar. Kmet might be in the discussion for best TE but he isn't the correct answer.
If you’re in a 3rd and 10+ scenario, don’t worry. You’ve got us right where you want us.
I'll preface this by saying that I'm not interested in picking a fight, but I thought of your post when I came across this article on The Athletic about the top draft prospects by position. Charlie Kolar is a redshirt sophomore and would be eligible for the draft, correct?

.......
I'll go by all of the Big12 coaches Kolar played against who would easily have him in the top ten, if not top 5, of draft edible TEs.
Charlie (and a couple others) may be the exception, but I don't think any Cyclone fan is trying to say we are going to 'out talent' the ND squad.
I'm not familiar enough with Kolar to give a proper assessment of his skill set, or his draft prospects..... Any opinions on by Kolar isn't listed in the top ten?
Having read the article, I’m not sure how many “draft eligible sophomores” the author included—aside from Cuba Hubbard, who is blatantly hard to miss.I'll preface this by saying that I'm not interested in picking a fight, but I thought of your post when I came across this article on The Athletic about the top draft prospects by position. Tight ends
1. *Cole Kmet, Notre Dame (6-6, 255, 4.68)
2. Hunter Bryant, Washington (6-2, 244, 4.63)
3. Jared Pinkney, Vanderbilt (6-4, 250, 4.78)
4. Albert Okwuegbunam, Missouri (6-4, 264, 4.76)
5. Adam Trautman, Dayton (6-5, 256, 4.76)
A quarterback his entire life, Trautman moved to tight end in college and caught his first career pass (in his life) in 2016. The level of competition is obviously an asterisk on his scouting report, but he was easily the best athlete on the field on his game tapes, showing a loose body type, strong routes and aggressive ball skills. The Senior Bowl will be an important step in his evaluation and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Trautman is a “riser” throughout the process.
6. Brycen Hopkins, Purdue (6-4, 247, 4.79)
7. Harrison Bryant, Florida Atlantic (6-5, 244, 4.78)
8. *Colby Parkinson, Stanford (6-6, 244, 4.74)
9. *Matt Bushman, BYU (6-5, 242, 4.78)
10. *Tony Poljan, Central Michigan (6-6, 255, 4.82)

Ah, the ol' Buddy Ryan Polish Goalline...I prefer going with 13 players on the field if you can.
I think the real matchup is going to be between the long snappers, as the ND long snapper just won the Mannelly Award over Steve Wirtel
You may be an example of a lot of college football fans (and writers), they've never seen Kolar or Iowa State play......

Mods, we need a rating that starts out laughing and turns to crying.....
If they would've panned out and gotten one more person from the right on this, I would've been part of this gif. Not sure if I should be relieved I'm not in it, or sad I'm not part of history..
My apologies to the AP writers. After the two Bryants, the AP has Kolar the third best TE in the country.
KenND, thoughts?
