I live in West Ames. It would be nice to have another option or two out here, but Ames isn't really big enough to make getting anywhere in town all that inconvenient.

Was hoping Mullets would fill a void, but that hasn't proved to be the case.

Ames is small enough that it SHOULDN’T be inconvenient to get anywhere in town, but designed/managed in such a way that a 4 mile drive could literally take longer than traversing the Oregon Trail. And that’s only slightly hyperbolic.

A few OC servers are going there. A bartender at OC that mainly works at Mullets and asked him about kitchen.

Said they are cutting hours back there (I would need 30 aka full time) and he said manager there sucks.

That's because the city administrator in Nevada is the managing partner and he and his wife have no business owning a restaurant.

Quick ways to lose your entire net worth:

1. Get a horse
2. Open a restaurant

If you take the absolute worst route maybe. Nowhere in Ames is more than 15 minutes from anywhere else in Ames.

I went to mullets for a brunch/lunch, it was very average, not good, not bad, probably not worth the price though. It was also dead and it was a home football Saturday, North Dakota I think, which I thought was odd.

I'd really like to know how much money the guy who bought Keg Stand early this year lost. Owned it for 6 months, drove it into the ground almost immediately, and sold it this summer.

The manager they fired after a couple weeks or whatever on the job was my GM for a very short time just before. Nobody was surprised.

18. I think in Wisconsin it is legal for underage children to drink in public places with a parent present (bars/restaurants) if the establishment is willing to serve them. I know it used to be at least.
Absolutely true. Bought my granddaughter her first " legal drink" at a restaurant in Lake Geneva. She is 20 but restaurant served her as long as a guardian approved.

I can already tell that place isn’t going to make it.

I was once at a bar in Chippewa Falls and saw a kid who had to be 12-14 having a Spotted Cow with his parents. It was weird to me.

I can be literally anywhere in town from my house in West Ames in 5-15 minutes depending on traffic. That's not exactly a huge inconvenience.

Probably not, which is unfortunate. We've given it 3 tries and it has been mediocre at best all 3 times. Food is just boring. The parking lot is full most Saturdays and Sundays though, so apparently some folks must like it.

We had a good chuckle last time because the $6.50 kids meal was more substantial than both of the $14 adult meals that we ordered. Came with 3 big pancakes, 2 sausage patties and 2 scrambled eggs. Joked that we are all just going to order off the kids menu next time.
