Totally. We've personified dogs to the point of providing them food we could eat.
Fake meat is the future.
That is kind of funny (and true) if you think about it.

Sort of? It had a similar "graininess" I guess, to ground beef. It wasn't overly juicy, but it wasn't not juicy, either.
It’s CBS Sunday morning. What did you expect, a documentary?
I can certainly see why heart disease is the number one killer.
There appears to be a link to red meat and heart disease, so that's one reason to eat this over a regular burger. Surprising how ignorant people are on this.

Like most fad diets, these are usually not sustainable so it's hard to get data on long term participants. Ketosis is very difficult to remain in, and until we know all of the mechanisms in heart disease, tough to recommend. Rebound dieting is also associated with increased mortality. There is a continual problem with these types of studies. Among other things, they are studying people eating red meat along with all the other crap we shouldn't be eating.....e.g....processed carbs, sugar, etc.
Where we are lacking are studies of individuals who eat a carnivore diet while avoiding the other foods American's tend to eat along side. There is a lot of anecdotal evidence starting to accumulate around the world of people who have been able to get off high blood pressure meds, reverse type 2 diabetes, etc. by essentially eliminating carbs (or severely restricting) and eating mostly meat....and it is the high fat content kinds (i.e....if you eliminate carbs as your energy source, you body will instead use fat.)

For example if TMAO is linked to heart disease, then you're probably screwed on keto.
I don't know much about TMAO...isn't that linked to seafood?
I'm starting to believe that the proper diet is very closely linked to your ancestry. I'm talking evolution over 1,000's of years and what your body was designed to eat...maybe not just looking at what your direct ancestors may have eaten a couple hundred yrs ago....but longer ago based solely on what was available given the region of the world they lived.
For example, I think people that came from the Mediterranean area of the world can and should eat differently than say those from Scandinavia (which would be me). 1,000's of years of evolution play in part in what your body needs and for that matter, can handle. Dr Ken Berry and his wife (a nurse) are both big Keto proponents but have found their diets need to be slightly different given their different ancestral backgrounds.

I mean he's selling books right?

I think he should submit peer reviewed information then, rather than profit from a book. What were the life expectancies of people over those 2000 years? That study may be of interest/value, but it has nothing to do with a person on Keto or Carnivore diet. They weren't testing for that.
If our bodies were meant to consume meat but not some of the other things we've been eating with it, you can't determine the issues of either if you combine them together within the test.
That was my earlier point. We are not testing for this correctly.
If TMAO is linked to heart disease, something amazing would have to happen to offset that bacterial effect. That study may be of interest/value, but it has nothing to do with a person on Keto or Carnivore diet. They weren't testing for that.

I have a heart condition fyi, so this is all quite personal to me. Apologies if that bleeds over, but I've heard a lot of info from people doing keto and my cardiologist would not be impressed if I went to it.
All of this will be moot when I roll out the Unpossible Burger later on
But we were living to much younger ages too, so why do you think our body is adapted to red meat when we never lived long enough for these diseases to occur? As does my wife...and her sister...and my father (now deceased) ...so this is personal to me too. That is why this is of such interest to me...and reinforced this past weekend as I listened to my wife's overweight Cardiologist providing his thoughts on best treatments.
I won't tell you what you should or shouldn't do. I'm just sharing my personal experiences based on my belief we weren't put on this planet to take drugs the rests of our lives in order to be healthy. I also know we evolved eating meat....and some of our ancestors almost exclusively. A lot of the things we are being sold as healthy, were things we were not eating as a species until just recently.
I'll buy it based on the name, and if it compares well to blue buffalo dog food. All of this will be moot when I roll out the Unpossible Burger later on
