Times like this are what kids remember.
He still remembers the weird WV Covid game. It was awesome but also so odd. This feels like it should to win and clinch. Grown men will be crying, LFG.

I’ll be driving back to Iowa, 18 hours through the night to NE Iowa. Grabbing my overalls and winter gear and busting it back across the state to Ames with little JM. I asked him from where we’re at if he still wanted to make it back for the game last night after we won. “Dad, yes. They need us.” Damn right, son. Let’s go win this freaking thing.

I promise that no matter what happens in the game, your kid will remember the process of getting to the game and being there. You'll wonder if you are crazy or stupid for making the effort and spending 4 hours in the cold. But it will be a core memory.

Not exactly the same, but I cut a vacation short last week and had a red-eye flight Thursday night to get home (which meant no sleep from Thursday morning to Friday night) just to make it to the game last Saturday (and those plans were made before I knew it was going to be for an 8-2 team). I've spent the last week trying to catch up on my sleep, but I regret nothing.

It’s a 20 hour drive or a $1,300 flight for me (per person, and would have to bring my fiancée if I went) and I am saving up for my wedding in Mexico next year. I would absolutely love to be there, but just can’t do it.

Really very few good excuses to not make the game if you are in Iowa. Cyclone Fans fill the Jack. Don't be wimps because of the cold. Hold Thanksgiving in Ames, bring the family. Help this team and program do something it has never done. If you watch on TV you are not trying very hard to help the team make history.

Don't tell me what to do. Besides. Cambell clearly hears me from my couch when I yell at the TV.

We hold our family Thanksgiving that day.

Many people have WAY more important things to do, or WAY more important reasons why they might not be attending a football game.

Go Cyclones!
I’m really not trying to be a **** but this is kind of ironic coming from the poster who may melt down the most on the entire board during games/bad times.

Have not missed a last home game of the season in years and don’t plan on missing this one! Plus this one has a lot riding on it.
