I will agree with Jayhawk fans though, the refs hosed them at times

How so? KU had 7 team fouls with 12 minutes left in the second half and didn't get another one called on them until about 3 minutes left in the game. They went about 9 minutes of game time without getting called for a foul. That's tough to do.

It was an evenly called game, but with about 10 minutes left the reds stopped calling anything. Just because Kansas didn't have many fouls doesn't mean that the refs weren't bad. They were bad one both ends.

The fact of the matter is that the Kansas shooters were what lost this game. They couldn't hit anything from either the outside or from the free throw line. That allowed VCU to pack it in and get physical.

I like the thread complaining that Self is 1-5 overall in the Elite Eight. It makes me feel terrible for them. They've had to suffer through three of those Elite Eight losses with him in the last 8 years, and they've only had the one victory.

It's a touching story when you think about it. :jimlad:

I didn't see one call against VCU that was questionable. I saw about 5 or 6 against Kansas and a couple were terrible. There was a block called on one of the Morris' that was an obvious charge. The refs weren't on their side. Even with all that, they should have won anyway.

I pity you. It's unfortunate you lack the ability to make a point without being immature.

KU didn't choke, they just couldn't make any shots and couldn't handle the VCU defense in the first half.

I was following your template (as I am again in this post). My mistake.

When the Final Four is on the line and you miss 13 free throws- that is conventionally known as choking. VCU did not cause KU to miss those free throws.
I can see how simply not playing well should not be labeled as choking.

15-28 from the FT line is choking.

This. It is much easier to hit your FT's when you jump all over a team 29-9 right off the bat then it is when you are down the entire game and trying to fight your way back into it. Some of those FT's they missed were absolute bricks. Kansas missed a TON of shots they normally would have made from contested shots to completely uncontested shots. They absolutely stunk today.

You just had to know that FT shooting would be the kiss of death for KU. They had such a dominating offense all year that they could make up for it in most games but today their best players, the morris twins, struggled on the line as they have pretty much all year

Morris brothers coming back next season? I doubt it, or at least the wise thing to do would be take the money.

Which is why they did not choke today. They shot blow their season average from the stripe...but they were not good from there in the first place.

Next...

Not making free throws in a pressure situation is choking. Shooting worse than their average in no way can be considered to alleviate the choke tag.
Ok, now on to the next point.
