Yeah.. its funny now that my Nexus feels fairly used and there still isn't another phone for sale with ICS.
Just because it's coming doesn't mean it's coming soon. HTC has been notorious for taking a very long time between announcements and the actual delivery date. For the Thunderbolt, the build leaks weeks to a month before Verizon actually pushes it out. Gingerbread didn't come out until well after ICS had been released for other phones. I wouldn't expect for the older phones to get this until after jelly bean is released in June.
The bigger question for Thunderbolt users will be whether this ICS release has a newer version of Sense. That will be the more noticeable change for most users.

I unrooted and removed my gingerbang sense for now. I want to see how the stock reacts to ics when vz sends it out. If its meh, ill probably go to the gingerbang version when it gets released.
I doubt my dinc ever gets ICS, unless I root for myself, which I have no intention of doing (I thought doing a factory reset on my phone just to get the phone to update to gingerbread was a pain in the arse).
Yeah, i'm figuring i'll see what the next round of new phones brings and replace my dinc with a new ics phone in a couple months. Probably wouldve gotten a nexus but i like having removable storage (i like knowing that even if i kill my phone, i should be able to recover the data on the SD card)
The dinc is still a great phone though, and my first phone that i havent been dying to get to the upgrade date so i can get something better.
Somehow I doubt it. Vz has a funny way of screwing the customer. You do it first and let me know how it goes. :smile:
I've been running 4.0.3 on my dinc for over a month. Rooted obviously, but with no Sense on top of it everything is snappy, the battery is outstanding, and most importantly it is the envy of others not bold enough to root! The dinc is getting long in the tooth, but it is still more than adequate for running pure ICS.
I've been close to popping on that phone several times. I feel like HTC and VZW really botched that launch. A large chunk of the dinc rooting community jumped to that phone too. I just can't bring myself to throw my old phone in a drawer and forget about it when its still in such great shape.
