Noob!! Jk I asked the same thing. For credits everytime you post it goes up a little and you can bet it all on cybookie. And losE!!!
Credits are accumulated by participating on the site in a variety of ways - making posts, sending messages, reporting posts, etc. - and can bet under the "CyBookie" tab. So obviously another way to accumulated credits is through good bets, of which I have made surprisingly few.
Reputation is given by the discretion of individual posters. The checkmark at the bottom of posts allows you to give reputation for what you find to be a positive contribution - a good point, a funny remark, whatever.

If you post threads that are absurd, lots of people will post in them and it will increase your credit count

haha - what he means is that if you start a thread that is "popular," it can gain you credits :wink:If you post threads that are absurd, lots of people will post in them and it will increase your credit count
Yeah - credits are basically Monopoly money  You can also gain credits by participating and succeeding at competitions put on by the moderators. For instance, there's a good chance that come march there will be an NCAA tournament pick'em pool, and the prizes will be credits. And then there are times that credits just appear for you when the site decides it needs to adjust for inflation, or give back to the poor. Kinda like your Aunt Nancy passing you the Monopoly money under the table when your dad and brother's aren't looking...
How many reputation contributions points, do you need to move the green bar up??
A little secret...
'what if' threads actually deduct credits from the OP.
With the exception of the obvious, what other topics should be avoided for discussion.
This morning I started a thread on politics, and the dawn socialism in America, and it was moved... why??
Probably because you didn't start it in the Politics forum.
Yep, that's why. It was in Off-Topic, when it was clearly a political thread...I moved it.
I couldn't enter the discussion on that topic nor find it afterwards, I thought I did something wrong...

Exactly. The dumber the thread, the richer you get.
