How crowded is Hickory Park on a Friday?

I've heard the same thing from a friend that worked there. Something to the effect of that's everything that gets swept up off the floor.
Nah, I'd eat it still. I don't care if it's pig butt and cow eyes ground up with some brain, it tastes good! Plus yeah, it's the cheapest thing on the menu.
But I'm kind of curious now....
Yea Jon, can you stop by Altoona on your way home and bring me the sampler platter, it might fit in your trunk, oh and a chocolate Pepsi...thanks!!!

Besides, I think if you knew what went on in the kitchen in any restaurant you would be surprised, I don't think Hickory Park has a monopoly on that.
Isn't it spring break? It should be pretty dead tonight. I would say 20 min wait is what you would really see. Still better than anywhere in DSM.
I get that about 80% of the time. 3 different meats, 2 delicious sides...you can't go wrong.
The BBQ dinner and pork ribs combo is heaven. I'm drooling all over my keyboard thinking about it.
I was really surprised tonight as I was leaving Ames today I went by Hickory Park it had to be around 6:30 and the place was packed and there was a line around the building out the door!!! But yes usually they do a very good job of shuffling people through there, and the food is well worth the wait!!!
Jon- we'd like to hear your thoughts on your experience at Hickory Park!

Personally, I don't CARE what's in the "Saucy Southerner." And pig butt is my favorite.
When I was running restaurants, I was a friggin' kitchen Nazi. If you didn't keep your work area clean enough to eat from the floor, I made your life a living heck. If you did something unsanitary, you were gone.

I am still in a bit of a food coma state some 2 hours after leaving. It was unreal. Heck, the smells that hit me as I walked into the building were enough of a snack to tide me over.
Very good food, and one of the best places I have ever grubbed in.
