wow....how about "respect everyone, fear no one". Frankly, I feel as if any major conference opponent is a worthy game. It's not like we don't have some new faces to fit in ourselves and some key players having graduated.

ISU will win by 30. The SEC basically sucks in basketball. This will be a boring game.

Both teams were Top 20 in scoring per game last year so A) Iowa State isn't beating them by 30 unless they score 110 points and B) it will be anything but a boring game. Both teams run a high speed tempo. There will be a lot of scoring and would probably be an entertaining game to watch.
Well i meant ANY of the conf ones....big10, acc, big12, sec......etc.
And im old...so recollecting is hard.

I liked Mike Anderson's teams at Mizzou.
Obviously, I'm kind of a fan of our team. This will be an exciting game.

@JonRothstein: Set the DVR now for that Arkansas at Iowa State game on 12/4. Pace will be beyond frenetic and Hilton Coliseum will be rocking --- as usual.
Boo. Outside of UK or UF, Tennessee was about the only matchup that would have been interesting, even though they lose practically the entire team from last year. Mizzou would have been good too, just so we could run them off the court.

I agree, good match-up. Arkansas usually fields a good team and has a good following. In Hilton I expect a win, if it were on the road I would expect a loss that early in the season, pre-Mckay.Arkansas is a Historical Power - which has WON the National Championship (1994), played in the NCAA Championship Game the following year (1995) and has been to the Final Four a few additional times too. The Razorbacks also play in a larger arena and avg. more fans per game than Iowa State. This is a GREAT opponent for Iowa State to HOST in the SEC-Big Xii Challenge. Woooo PIGGGGG Cyclones! I'm hoping that all of you shrugging your shoulders are just disappointed that we didn't get Florida or Kentucky.
This will be an awesome game. Mike Anderson plays a frenetic brand of basketball...fast-paced, quick-scoring, and he loves to press the whole court on defense. It should be a great early-season learning experience for the team and it will be fun, fun, fun to watch.
