I have a sad.

It's also proud & happy, but sad.

Our oldest granddaughter has been living here in the same town. We've spent a lot of time together going to games, traveling, and just hanging around binging streaming tv shows.

About a month ago, she was laid off from her job working for a team helping to integrate Krispy Kreme & McDonalds, and that whole thing has gone belly up.

Yesterday, she received an offer from the parent company for BWW (among other brands). She applied for this job 2 years ago, but came in second in the selection. She was told she needed a more specialized management experience than she had, so she took the KK/McD's job to gain experience. The guy they hired 2 years ago was promoted, and she re-interviewed and got the job. That's the good news.

The bad news is the job is based in Atlanta. I'm going to miss her so much. :(

That is good news but I also feel for you. At least you have another place to go for a weekend visit.

I had an interview for a promotion this morning and I think it went okay but not as good as it could have if I had answered better, maybe been more prepared. Felt like I was repeating myself.

9 times out of 10 they have already decided who they are going to hire and interviews are sort just cover. I got candid feedback twice on jobs I did not get that I had the best interview but they just really felt like [insert name] was their guy. BTW, I thought my interviews for both were just sort of okay+.

Wait? You guys have had more than one job your entire career? I found it and stuck to it. 35+ years and they treated me well at retirement.

Post ISU: Drove fuel delivery truck for my dad than to Smith-Voorhees-Jensen (architects/planners) in DSM than to MN and a design office in Edina to carpenter for architect friend (my wander in the wilderness period) to landscape architect with Corps of Engineers to project manager Corps of Engineers. So drive the Chevy truck (or bad days, the old GMC) to finishing up managing studies to deter Asian carp. Did stay at the Corps for 35 years though. Good work culture at our office and I had health coverage that I previously could not get (pre-existing stuffs).

Currently a retired pseudo-sloth who dabbles in bird photography as a major interest. Currently minoring in the art of deer/rabbit warfare, parttime mall cop for CF and trips to the gym. And, fighting my inner sloth, I am off to the gymski.

Are the Russian agents still coming to your gym?

Define different jobs. I have had four different spots in my large department over the last 7.5 years each with its one application/interview processs. Exact same role with varying/increasing levels of complexity and responsibility though.

I was at my last job for 28 years through 5 different ownerships. The job before that was 15 years
