Looking for computer peripheral hardware advice/suggestions.
For background:
I have a desktop that is a few years old. It had a complete cleanup by the geek squad a few months ago. Newish Microsoft ergo keyboard (wired). Bought a wireless mouse at the same time.
The problem:
A couple of weeks ago, my mouse started acting up, mostly with scrolling functions. It's random. I can scroll up the page, but I cannot scroll down to read the next part of the page. I'm stuck pulling down the tab on the scroll bar over on the side of my screen. Annoying as all get out.
Things I've tried:
Unplugging and replugging in the mouse HDMI connector.
Stopping & restarting the computer.
Uploading any outstanding computer updates.
Replacing the battery in the mouse.
Cleaning cat hair out of the mouse.
Buying a new wireless mouse (which not only didn't fix the scroll issue, it exacerbated it. The new mouse didn't scroll either direction)
Does anyone have any suggestions for what might be the matter, or for what other "fixes" I can try?
