To be fair it is a lot tougher to get them to your alma mater when they grow up out of state and they have to pay a lot more to go and be a legacy. So far I am 1 for 2.
Sort of. The issue is that they all chose schools that cost more than ISU. Just face it, I failed.

Meh. It is about fit. Not all kids are comfortable going to the same type of school as their parents. Some kids' degree choices fit better at different schools.

Did your kid go to Iowa? No? Then you didn't fail.
Our son, an ISU grad and USMC retiree, lives in Delaware. His daughter chose Mississippi St (architecture). She had never even visited the south before this (except for DisneyWorld, which really ISN'T true southern life). She has been a blue fish out of water, but is just about to complete her freshman year...on the Dean's list. She has definitely found a home there. :D

While we'd love to see a few grandkids go to ISU, odds are not high. Let 'em go where they fit.

Just one of those days where taking a big paycut and working at Jersey Mike’s and smoking tons of weed seems like a good idea. They are always so friendly here!

Now that names have been released and the news is out. Going to be a hard one to move past, we were not as close as we once were but still stayed in touch and texted regularly about all things Iowa State, baseball, life and aviation. Hell he texted me on damn near every away game on the hiccups and random crap with the charter flights.

He was the most genuine person and friend you could know.

He started grad school at the same time I came back, and we took a class together.
He coined the phrase, before one of our grad discussions, "The thing I've learned about grad school is that I hate it," and he landed with the football program.
Really nice, bright guy. This really is sad.

Ha I remember when he started that and that he was not enjoying it.

Can't get much more random than this. I don't know that I needed to know this, but now that I do, I can't forget it.

That...

is hilarious!!!

My goodness there is quite the difference in the quality of questions between Jeopardy Celebrity and tournament of Champions.
Celebrity is making me feel pretty darn smart, Champions I need to study more.
