It's great for the first 10 weeks. The problem is that the intensity drops down every ten weeks to accommodate the new students, making it difficult for the maintenance students to get much out of it...

plus..some of the personalities start to grate on you..

'coaches'...had one who tried to sell Avon to us...

'maintainers' that just sit in the back and chat/gossip during the session...

I have had the same problem... Torn labrum when I was swimming all the time, numerous bouts with plantar faciatis, and some random ankle/knee issues...

Plantar faciatis has to be the worst, as there's really no way to treat it - even rest doesn't really do much for it.

The worst for me was when I was an instructor. Knowing you HAD to be there, no matter what made it really unappealing.

I tore my planta facia a few years back playing basketball, with the noise and the pain I literally thought I had been shot in the foot, I took off my shoe expecting to be gushing blood... Since then it always seems to flair up right when I get in a good routine... Sucks!

I'm seriously not making fun, but is that an army uniform you're rocking sans patches/medals?[/quote]

That's my dad's uniform from the Korean War. When I told him what my new weight was, he told me that was his 20 year old weight, and we tried on his old uniform just to see, and viola! It fit!

I'm currently restoring it to the correct patches/rank/medals.

. . . What I want now is to tone my body especially my mid-section. Does anyone know some good ways of doing that? . . .

Likely, you'll get lots of suggestions for reference material. Here are mine:

1) The Abs Diet, David Zinczenko, editor-in-chief of Men's Health magazine. Book. Most importantly for me, contains photo illustrations of all the exercises in the main abs exercise groups: Upper abs, Lower abs, Obliques, Transverse abdominis, Lower back.

2) WebMD web site. Lots of information and videos and slide demonstrations of various subjects. And, you can subscribe to e-newsletters on a wide variety of subjects that are authored by science professionals (including diet, weightloss and workout newsletters.)

3) Google searches have been beneficial, too.

Keep working!
