What I want now is to tone my body especially my mid-section. Does anyone know some good ways of doing that?

Mid-section is where your body is designed to store fat, so it will be the last to go.

I continue to do lots of aerobics (1 hour a day, 6 days a week) and do a gazillion crunches and hanging leg lifts, every day. Be sure to work the obliques, because most of the visible thickness is there.

Even skinny, I have a "blocky" mid-section. Keep hitting it, hard. Don't give in or give up, especially now. Consider this the new "normal".

I started this change around the middle of April last year after seeing a picture of myself in the tribune from the Rutgers/ISU game last year. I just began watching what I eat and how much I ate. Basically eliminated fast food, soda potato chips etc. from my diet. I was at 286 April 16th last year and was at 186 around Nov. Since I have yo-yo ed between that and 200. I went to the gym twice a week, now I'm up to 3 or 4 times, and yes taking diet supplements - which does help but if you don't commit to a diet and exercise plan they won't do much. With today being Super Bowl Sunday I'll let a Kurt Warner quote do it best: Kurt Warner ~~ "Most times when you do something great, it's not overnight. It's not something that comes easy. It comes with a lot of hard work, a lot of time, a lot of commitment."

thats awesome! that gives me some hope! i am looking to lose about 30-20 pounds doing the same exact thing! (no diet supplements) But yea i have finally cut out as much fast food as possible and have also had zero pop for about a month now. (and i dont count the coke and captain on the weekends) but what was your workouts like when going to the gym? Im just running avg 3 miles a day, and when i say "run" i mean run, i really dont go below a jog. But jsut curious what u did?

We must be related. I quit drinking pop a month ago except for Captain and diets on the weekend. I've been drinking a ton of water and can tell I have lost weight. I'm a lot thirstier now, though. Is that normal?

Order diet Coke with your Captain and avoid the empty calories you get otherwise from the sugar in the reg Coke.

My biggest problem has always been plateauing at a particular weight for a month or more at a time (eating very strict and working out twice as hard during those periods to break the plateau) - and then I'll sprain my ankle or something similar and completely fall off the wagon. Props to you, I know how hard this is - I live it.

Great job by the lot of you!

I ran and ran and ran last summer and lost around 20 pounds, but since the warm weather headed south I've put close to 15 back on. I think the key to me running was just being outdoors. Anyone find anything that can be done at home that won't be old in a week? I'll be back outside in a couple months, but I hate to think that I won't be doing something until then.

I have had the same problem... Torn labrum when I was swimming all the time, numerous bouts with plantar faciatis, and some random ankle/knee issues...

Great job dude. I've been doing farrell's for a year now and it's unreal to see some of the accomplishments people have. It's inspiring and I can't imagine how hard it is.

I did this in the fall at the Grimes location...worked really well.

Could not bring myself to sign further on however.....that enviroment got old quick...

I've lost 8 pounds since the beginning of January. I've just been counting calories and got into a workout routine. I'm hoping to loose another 10 pounds in February too.

It's great for the first 10 weeks. The problem is that the intensity drops down every ten weeks to accommodate the new students, making it difficult for the maintenance students to get much out of it...
