A couple of buddies and I just decided that we are going to Waco for the game later today. Anyone have any advice? We're going to try to get to Waco by 4:30-5:00 pm. Where should we park? Will there be people selling tickets outside the arena?

Is there anything to do in Waco on a Monday night? Is there a bar scene somewhere? We'll probably get a hotel for the night and then head up to Dallas/Forth Worth for a couple days.

I've been through Waco a couple times, but never to Baylor's campus or any of their sporting venues.

Can't wait to root on the Cyclones in person for the first time this year!!

Another option for after the game, would be to skip town altogether and just go straight to Dallas/Fort Worth to party since it's a Monday night and it's... Waco.

It has been about 4 years since I have been through there, but the college was located in the "bad" part of Waco.

Also the Denny's that is on the access road off of I 35, near campus had the greasiest food of any Denny's I have ever eaten at.

Other than that, the arena is like a concrete bunker, and there are a lot of pretty girls.

My Husker buddy and I decided to do this at the last minute for the ISU- NU game in 09 and had great time. Hung out in Omaha during the day, and went to the game that night. It stunk that the Cyclones lost but we still had fun.

It was funny because I was the only one in my entire section wearing Cyclone gear and. I was the one cheering the loudest of anyone... I was getting a lot of "looks"...

My 16-year-old son and I are heading down from Dallas. We won't be able to leave until 4 pm so we probably won't make it to Waco until at least right at 6 pm. So we're hoping to find a quick parking spot and get in to the game as quick as possible. We'll have to immediately head back home after the game since he has school again the next morning. But it should be a really fun road trip and game for us. We're really looking forward to it. GO CLONES!

So my main question is where to park closely and quickly?

Baylor does not like when people top off an *** kicking with an uncontested, showboating dunk:

Attending a road game isn't nearly as much fun as attending a home game. But there was one road game I attended, where a chant made it feel like home--and sufficiently ticked off the home crowd and therefore was somewhat satisfying.

I'm a Cubs fan, and a few years ago attended the Cubs / Rangers game in Arlington. Fans of the visiting team are usually scattered around the stadium, but when the "Let's go Cubbies <clap, clap, clap-clap-clap>" chant broke out, it made all of us Cubs fans instinctively rise up out of our seats like 17-year locusts...and the chant overtook the unsuspecting home fans.

After attending the ISU game a week ago in Norman, I'm convinced there were 1,000 Cyclones fans there, but there was no cheer that could trigger Cyclones fans to stand up and take over the stadium with some noise. We should have one single chant that unifies Cyclones fans at all stadiums.

Criteria: needs to be repeatable, distinctive, and something that old and new Cyclones fans alike will recognize

Options:
1) "Don't know the words..." (mildly amusing when you're drunk, but obviously this song has no point)
2) Fight-song (A Capella version would be nice, but it'd be on the last 2 lines of the song when the signal would get around the entire stadium)
3) "I-S-U" (simplistic, lame, and not distinctive, but probably the only one that has a chance)
4) "Let's go State" (too easy for the home crowd to key in on the 'State' and replace it with their team's name)
5) "Hello everybody....Hi Ed!" (doesn't fit any criteria, but do you remember Ed riding on a unicycle at halftime while introducing the Shoot 5-for-5 contestant trying to win a car "from....Jenson Motors")
