Sukothai. It was a bar that was only open about 2 weeks my freshman year (1997) before the cops shut it down. Located above the ever changing Asian restaurant on the West side of Welch across the street from Keg Shoppe.

Tork's.
And what was the name of the place where your drank pitchers and ate cream cheese and bagels (on the corner)?

Whiskey River - It was the perfect place for underage consumption.

Lumpy's was the first stop at 21, only because some buds were regulars there. A lot of funny stories started with, "Dude, we were at Lumpy's and..."

Ah, Whiskey River. Can't beat a place where the water pipes and wall studs define the decor. It was handy to park right out back though...

Lumpy's was the first bar I went to in Ames. My buddies took me there as soon as I turned 21. I remember some parts of the night, but definately don't remember leaving.

People's for FAC actually. Sort of sad thing is that it was a full week after my 21st. I had a major test on my 21st birthday, then VEISHEA was that weekend so trying to get into the bars wasn't worth the time in our opinion. Ended up doing 50 cent mugs and was done by 6:00 when Peoples closed for a graduation party.
